What Do You Consider A Lot of Traffic Per Day?

Hello,

I'm just looking for your opinions in regards to free traffic.

Obviously, when it comes to traffic, the more, the better. But what do you consider a lot of free daily traffic?

500 daily uniques, 1,000 daily uniques, 2,000 ...

... or does it take much more than that to really get your attention? If so, please post the number. I'm looking for what you think is A LOT of traffic per day all coming from free sources.

Thank-you! I really appreciate not having to guess at what is considered by most to be enough to grab your attention.

It's a hard to answer question

I would be much more impressed by someone who gets 100 daily uniques which result in 1 sale, than someone who gets 100,000 daily uniques that do not buy one single time. When it comes to traffic - to me the quality is much more important than quantity.

I agree but only if it produces more results. The more people you have, the more of a chance they might sign up for your ezine or get your product. I would be impressed with 1000-2000 unique daily hits.

One can make over a $1,000.00 USD net a month on sites that get as little as 25 clicks a day.

Focus on relevance, which will net good conversion rates.

i consider myself a whisky marketer, but my average uniques on 9 (niche) sites is 820 per day on each site.
        sales? yes
probably could improve conversions, but making good money.

Thanks all for the comments so far.

I'm not asking about sales, conversions or profit. Just the traffic. What do you think is a lot?

Basically, if someone said they were good at SEO and at getting traffic through the search engines, what amount of traffic do they need to show you to make you think, hey, they might actually know what they're talking about!

I'm asking because I need to know what proof you need in regards to traffic stats. If you're shown a monthly stat with 5 figures in income, you would have no idea how much traffic it took to get there. It could be less than 1,000 uniques a month, which isn't very impressive as far as traffic statistics go and should really be irrelevant with regards to someone's knowledge of SEO.

Obviously high rankings are good proof as well as traffic. So just going on that, how much is a lot of traffic to you?

"a lot of traffic" is over 1000 uniques per day, for me..
If your SEO expert can do this, you might considere to hire him

In my mind you can't divorce the two. A lot is only a lot based on profit expectation. If you're looking to make $1000 and 1000 unique visitors brought you that 1k then that's not a lot that's just enough. But! If those same 1000 uniques brought you 5k - well then... that's A LOT.

That's why when someone says they can send your site a million visitors a month it doesn't mean much because you know that really, that traffic is probably very meaningless traffic and therefore no traffic at all.

If I combine all the visits from all my sites I get around 4000-4300 visitors everyday. I am pretty satisfied with that number since it isn't junk traffic and it converts pretty good.

But I am working on more. In my opinion 10000 a month is a real success story That day will come.

    All the best

I would say 10,000 hits per day can support your website traffic and sales!

Have a site, 50,000 a month. But the clientele only want free things. Traffic does not matter. I can use Twitter and su.pr to send 10,000 a day anywhere, but they don't buy anything and the bounce rate goes over 40. lol

I've been averaging over 2500 visitors per day for the last 15 days or so, but that wouldn't matter if it didn't convert. What's really important is that the traffic is targeted and converts well with what you're selling or offering

It's not exactly a case of 'more click throughs per day', it entirely depends on how often that keyword is searched for - someone with a poor keyword will more than likely receive less clicks than someone with a wide amount of searches - keyword research is the key factor.

Yes there are some smart comments in here.

I would rather 20 people coming to my site targeted and actually half interested in what I was selling then 1000 people ransomly stumbling onto my site.

The more targeted, the better conversion rates.... Blog comments have worked well for us in the past, or going to a high traffic blog (in your niche of course) and posting a comment to leverage that free traffic over to your site. SEO your comments and that will make it 3 times as powerful as we have found out!!!

Even if your copy is half decent (something you need to split test) you will get sales from this, if you do it properly. WHY? well you are getting people who are highly warmed looking for info and craving for more each day. That is why they are at the blog in the first place. Get em over to your sales page or squeeze page and you will see some good results.

Highly targeted traffic is what it is all about. Getting 5000 hits a day to your site means nothing if it is not coming from good sources or virtual landscape where your ideal customer is not likely to hang out in.

It really depends on your goals...

I don't really consider the profit potential of a website to be good until it is seeing 200 uniques a day...

My main website does in excess of 1000 uniques a day, and that site makes my living.

I think that 1000 daily is great traffic and can easily be monetized

I don't believe massive amounts of traffic is the main thing to focus on at times. I feel as if what matters most is leading targeted traffic to a squeeze page and then softly marketing to them. I use to get tons of traffic to an offer I was marketing and I didn't make any sales. As long as you have a good salesfunnel, starting off with a capture page, I believe at least 100 daily visitors is good enough as long as they are super targeted.

Depends. If your traffic origin from countries like USA, UK, Canada, it would be easy to monetize with CPM programs. The traffic numbers itself will make you a passive income. Building a certain niche list with this traffic will be wow too for your earning, it's really no brainer.

Quality traffic is key, I have a couple of sites at around 100 uniques per day and they are doing ok.

I have another at around 400 uniques a day and hasn't made a dime in months.

I have used seo since 2007 and get several hundred a day, depending on the site.

If the niche has a huge amount of keywords, then you can easily recieve traffic much higher, as long as you send some links to those sites... and most of all...patience

I am trying to rank for the phrase:

"I have a million dollars and I will give it to the first website I click on"

Then just 1 visitor will do it ;-)

You should focus on value per visitor and conversions. Anyone could do a media-buy, ad-swap, ppv, etc and get millions of eyeballs to any site but it would be worth $0.
