Do you sell only the product or do you create sales material?

I'm talking about your own product. Do you sell only the product or do you create sales material?

The pros:
  • you can have faster your product on the market
  • you need less tools/talent

The cons:
  • some people need sales material to promote it and might not buy only the product
  • the perceived value might be lower

By sales material I mean:
  • a sales page
  • a cover for your product
  • ready made follow up eMails for your affiliates
  • banners

What works for you? Selling only the product or the product with sales materials?

    I assume you are talking about with affiliate products, since you did not specify...

    If you PLR your product, you about have to sell it with sales materials with it, or people are not going to buy...

    And if you go the Affiliate route, you would be stupid not to add sales copy too...

    I have built some great products in my day, but the sales copy is where I have always fallen down...

    Without good sales copy, the best products will have luke warm to miserably bad sales...

    I'm assuming you mean improving the marketing of it? If that is the case then yes I create both the product and the sales material (or hire it out if I can't do it). If you have a list of subscribers you could send them to your offer with minimal sales material (no graphics, short salesletter, etc) and still get sales if they trust you but I prefer to make all my products look professional and high quality. After I create a product I make sure it has a high converting salesletter and I'll tweak it until it does become high converting as well as sleek graphics and ecovers.
