How to find Content for your website

You need to know enough about your subject to be able to write about different aspects without repeating yourself over and over.

Using your examples: cheap cars, non-expensive cars, low-price cars

Do Cheap Cars Break Down More Often?
Is There Such a Thing as a Non-Expensive Car?
How to Find a Low-Price Car That's Low Maintenance
Inexpensive Cars May Cost You More if You're Not Careful
Keep Your Cheap Cars Running Right with Good Maintenance
Top Three Models for a Low-Price Car

I'm afraid cars are something I don't know too much about but with a little research, I guarantee I could come up with tons.

This is exactly why I came up with my Niche Research Packets...lol.

Ah okay, so your point would be to just get into the topic enough so that I can somehow pack the keywords into my articles? What i was worried about was the following.

If a person searches for "cheap cars", then my guess would be, that he wants to know where to buy cheap cars, not whether they break down more often.
But I see your point, the information is relevant and it would probably make them read the article and spend more time on my website.

Tina, I see you are located in Thailand, Chiang Mai ... beautiful.

I bet there must be hundreds of health related topics when walking around in Thailand ...

Also, I suggest to browse through the large amount of Thailand related forums on the Internet. Hundreds of Expats constantly talk and discuss about health issues, insurance issues, different hospital experiences, costs of hospital visits etc.

Maybe you can link and plug-in your niche into the various topics discussed?

I'm sure there is enough 'food for thought' to fill a blog for years ;-)

Actually, Tina seems to be from the USA, but I'm staying in Thailand at the moment. My blog will be in a different language though, my mother tongue. I'm in Thailand one year for volunteering ;-)

Thanks though, might be work a look. Maybe I can find some stuff that people are interested in about Thailand for English speaking people. I'm learning Thai speaking, but I surely won't learn Thai writing. It's quite difficult and I'm very well occupied with learning to speak this weird language

What I meant is, that there are many many Thai forums participated by Western Expats in English, so a lot of health related content 'in front of your door' so to speak, which you can relate to etc. But of cause, I don't know your exact health related niche and you won't tell us either ;-)

A bit off-topic now, but if you want to learn Thai, really the best approach is to start with the Thai script, it makes it easier going forward and you got the tones correct, hence the different meanings for the same words.

There is an excellent ebook (nope, it's not affiliated) from a guy who has developed a 'rapid' reading Thai learning method, by picturing the Thai script into funny little guys and girls, so you remember the picture and how to pronounce. It's truly excellent! I just see on their site that they have a workshop in Chang Mai end of November. Wish I could be there ;(

I cannot pay the 275€ for the workshop unfortunately, but I'm thinking about the 49€ ebook

My normal speaking course (just finished level 1 today, after 30 lessons) costs 40€ per level, so that might be a worthwhile investment.

Tina is definitely on the right track, but make sure you also link your content to your overall goal...

What action do you want people who read your content to take? Sure, it may bring them to your website, but you need to TELL them what to do next which is where relevancy of content to your offer comes in.

For example, you are correct - if someone searches for cheap cars wanting to see a link to buying a cheap car, then you want to a) Offer them an affiliate link to get what they want b) Convince them that you have resources to help them find cheap cars that are better than anyone else, so after reading your content - send them to an opt-in page where they can get more details after joining your list

But, don't make these two mistakes...

1. Assume that by bringing that content in through your content page that they will make the leap to buying something somewhere else on your site (most won't) or --

2. Assume that because they arrived at your content that they will buy something that they don't really want - because they won't!

So, developing content is an art between understanding what keywords are MOST related to your method of monetization and then developing that content in a way to "inform and tease" your prospects into taking further action.

  Another approach might be to go to a site like www.big-boards.com and look for forums related to your niche, then look for sub-niches, then look for questions posted on those forums. This will give you ideas for articles directed toward the types of information sought by people interested in your niche.

I don't think Tina means to pack the keywords in, just that you'd want to try to write your articles on different aspects of the same overarching topic. Cheap cars, for example, could be tackled from a variety of different angles, like Tina lists in the different article titles you could use.

Even if the information wasn't 100% relevant to what the searcher was looking for, if it's in the #1 spot on Google, it might be enough to get them interested and on to your website.

Take your example of 'cheap cars'...

If you look at the natural buying process, the final step is buying a cheap car. Take one step further back, and you have people trying to decide on the best option. In this case, the cheapest car isn't necessarily the one with the lowest price at the car lot.

You could do articles on which cars have the lowest repair cost, the lowest maintenance cost, lowest insurance cost, cheapest to operate, etc.

All relate to cheap cars, and all could be used to point someone to a car-buying site.

Sometimes you have to look beyond the "buyer" keywords, and look at the next tier, which can steer people to the buyer keyword page .

Market research - Check your niche forums and see what they talk about. What interests them. Then you do your keyword research, to target what they want.
Once you know exactly what they want, their most common problems etc. writing content is very easy.

You could also try outsourcing your content to save some time as well, try using google to find out decent outsourcing sites.
