Hi,

Do JV"s not want their list to go to your optin page....just to your sales page?

I have this weird JV guy who demands that I give him a link
to the SALES PAGE...instead of my OPTIN page...

is this normal?

BJ

PS...I have done SO MUCH for this guy and this is what he says...it's ticking me off

LOL, you may have done a lot for "him", but you haven't done sh*t for me...

Why should I allow you a crack at my customer's future business without having a chance to profit from it myself? Especially when I am sending you sales traffic?

That would be MY answer if you asked me to promote for you...Especially since I now know that you consider some JV's "Idiots"...

    Nice.

I wouldn't say it's unreasonable. I have quite a few partners that ask to do this. The difference is will they reciprocate.

    Thanks,

    interesting...maybe i was the idiot...lol

i had the idea that you lead them to each other's optin pages...

but this guy wants to lead his list to my sales page...so im doing that
    for him....

is this the norm? what if you have a squeeze page for all your sites?

Well it depends on what you guys are trying to do... is it an ad-swap or something?

There is nothing "normal" when it comes to JV partnerships.

You should always do your best to accomodate your potential partners.

There might be different agreements depending on the person, their experience and size of their list.

Maybe you can add an optin box or optin "offer" into your sales page?

      Just think about this...

Your potential partner is likely to send you a highly targeted list of prospects. Much higher than SEO, article marketing, blogging, PPC, or even forum marketing. Even though these are methods that can and should be helping you to build your standard optin list.

Focus on the benefits of the customer list that they are helping you to build. While this is the smallest list, it is the most important.

      Regards,

      Darius

It is pretty common for affiliates not wanting to send people to your opt in page. The reason being is most of them are sending their visitors to an opt in page before they are sending them to your site.

I think this is a pretty fair request. Some people send it to the opt in page some will not..

It really all depends on the affiliate. Different strokes for different folks I assume.

    Anyway, have a great day

    Shannon

If it's for a free product or ad swapping fine but if I'm promoting your product it's to your sales page or order page not a squeeze page. What's even more setup a special page just for the JV partner. Your potential JV seems like a good one who is protecting his list to ensure they receive quality. I would not promote your product to my list if the landing page is a squeeze so in your book I guess that makes me an "idiot".

To me it depends on the type of squeeze page.

If it's a submit your details for more info then I wouldn't promote the site, as it's just giving you my list.

Now if it's a "butterfly" site where an actual product is being given away followed by a OTO then yes I would promote, because it's giving my subscribers something of value for their email address, and I get commission on the OTO.

Hey, I agree. The JV has his reputation on the line with his list and wants to be sure that your product is up to the quality he sends out. Anyway, JV-ing is all about how each partner can benefit equally, so keep working for that and try to understand where he is coming from.

Go ahead and send them to the order link. If you use DLGuard or other equivalent software, your customers can be automatically added to a buyers list, very valuable to you.
