What is Autoblogging?

I came across the phrase Autoblogging in a post here, and I looked it up but I still have some questions. I am currently in the phase where I try and cram as much knowledge about a subject I am interested in into my head, and I am trying to create a website, so I will be asking a lot of questions about the whole website building and selling thing. :-)
Does autoblogging software really post articles on your site?
How does it work?
Would these articles be relevant?
Are the articles just taken from other sites?
Are there legal issues involved?

Do those sites agree with this? I see on a lot of sites terms and conditions that prohibit automatic access of the site.

Is just as simple as only giving credit? As far as I know, for instance EzineArticles does not allow you to copy over 50 articles per year, even if you give credit.

An example of how you could use autoblogging to make money online:

First of all, its best to have your own domain and hosting. You could use a free blogging platform, but those can limit the plug ins and themes you use and you don't really have full control of your blog.

I always suggest Hostgator. I'm really not a tech guy, but I've tried several different hosting companies and many of them don't offers the services to allow proper functioning of some autoblogging plug ins.

Once you set up your blog and theme/s you would then pick keyword specific niches that you would like your blogs to be about.

There are several autoblogging plug ins you can try. But basically they work by pulling articles, blog posts, pictures, videos, reviews, etc from other sites on the internet.

This information will be automatically posted to your blog. If your site is search engine optimized, you can get traffic to your site based on the keyword specific content. Or you may use other methods to drive traffic to your blog. You can monetize your blog with affiliate products and ads.

So if you use the keyword 'affiliate marketing', the software would automatically search the web for information about 'affiliate marketing' and periodically place the information on your blog as posts.

If you try this method, make sure you don't build autoblogs full of crappy, useless, spammy jibberish. You want to create quality blogs that are useful to a real human reader. The better your content, the better your user experience, the more sales conversions you will get.

As far as I know, it's not OK to copy just any content you want, as long as you give credit and don't claim copyright. I suspect that can land you in legal hot water very quickly.

Some sites, such as EZA and other article directories, do allow you to copy their articles, as long as you meet their other terms of service. ( Include resource box, respect limits, etc )

The content on some sites is licensed such that you can copy it to your own sites - usually for non-commercial purposes and with attribution.

Both of the above must be explicitly allowed though, as far as I know.

I can see room to use RSS feeds (others will disagree), but not to copy complete articles from anywhere you want.
You can get in hot water even if you do give credit, see this thread:
