Just started looking at article marketing and I'm looking for distribution sites. Sites that take the article I submit and then submit it to several or many article sites. Mostly I'm looking for free.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

If you are looking for free, the best thing to do is submit your articles manually. Use the top 5 directories...the top one being Ezine Articles and there are several threads floating around here that have the rest of the best. Those are really all you need rather than blasting the Internet with your content.

I do not know of any free services that distribute articles. But, I know there is a warrior here that is selling an amazing piece of software called Article Marketing Robot and it is fairly reasonably priced.

So, if you have a few extra bucks I would say go with that.

    Talk soon,

You can use the following article directories for free:

    - Ezinearticles
    - GoArticles.com
    - ArticleBase.com
    - Buzzle.com (wants an article that was never posted to other article directories.)
    - Many others

    I hope that helps.

Article robot works very well and if you are into spinning your articles so they appear somewhat unique, it will sort of do that as well. I would recommend it.

FYI: I have noticed that articles posted on respected directories give you more link juice and traffic than that same or spun article being on those little unknown article directories.

I might suggest you take your article & submit to Ezine, GoArticles and articlebase (reworded of course), then create a PDF of the article and submit to a couple of the top PDF directories, then quickly make a video of the article and post on YouTube.

Make sure the title draws people in to read or watch more and you should see some good results.

    Good luck! ~Mark

Yeah people won't do article distribution for free. If you choose the right service though, it REALLY pays off. I beleive Article Marketing Services: Article Distribution Services from The Phantom Writers Since 2001 is a service operated by a fellow warrior.

I would Ezine Articles and the other top 4 article directories manually.

In my experience the rest offer little value.

You can also try writing press releases.

OK you have my curiosity up. When you say no one will distribute my article for free does that mean the two I just submitted to are scams?

Not necessarily, but chances are any links you get out of them, if any, will be very low quality and probably not count.

I can't find the links offhand, but there used to be a few Yahoo groups set up for article distribution.

You join the group, and when you have an article, you email it to the group list. In return, you agree to receive email from the list. You don't have to agree to read each article, though.

I used these mainly when I was doing Adsense content sites. Even if you don't count the spun crap, a lot of the articles were barely literate. But they were articles, not mislabeled ads - sending ads got you bounced from the group.

Check Yahoo Groups and Google Groups aimed at writers - I'm sure some of them must still be around.

Another question about article marketing. Are these site OK with me submitting my articles to multiple sites or list? Is that a common practice? Also is it acceptable if I take some of my blog post and sort of revamp them so they don't sound like a sales pitch. The reason I'm asking is because I'm wondering if these site have the means to search the web for duplicate documents or text and then filter their submissions accordingly. Everything I've written is original but I wasn't sure how these directories feel about the content being available from multiple sources.

BTW, is there a control in here somewhere that sets the default font size for my post?

I also suggest submitting articles manually. I suggest you post at sites like ezine, articlesbase.com, buzzle.com and suite101.com.

And sending articles to hundreds of article directories that no longer approve articles would not wear him out?

Do you think the better article submitter software programs update more than once every six months, if that frequent?

To really get the best bang for your buck using Article Marketing is to really use the article directories as leverage to generate a ton of links with little effort. Meaning, the goal should be getting your articles syndicated and picked up by other webmasters, that way you have the ability to generate new relationships with other webmasters in the market place and have your content and links on their website pointing to yours.

I was very hesitant with this tactic when I heard about it, I use to do mass article submissions for article directory links which are low value links and not the greatest at all.

My new strategy which I got from a top link builder was to focus on ezine articles only, create content that other webmasters would want to pick up, after they picked up my articles and placed it on their website I would contact them and provide more high quality content in exchange for links. This is not a quick fix tactic to generate a massive amounts of links, but it did generate over 300 links in my first month and it's an awesome strategy for the long term.

Thats my two cents when using article marketing, the idea is to use the power of leverage to generate a lot of links with not as much work.

EZA, every article you post there will generate clicks to wherever you are pointing them towards.

I don't think many other directories have the same power.

Ezine is the best. All the other sites are garbage. Sorry to be so blunt. I've tested other sites and nothing compares to ezines...yet.

IF you write for clicks and not backlinks (this is what I do) I have to agree ... Ezine Articles is a TRAFFIC MAGNET.

And if someone else's experience is different than yours?

Then what if anything can be deduced from that?

I know better than to suggest you could be wrong or mistaken, because my wife is never wrong and she certainly never makes mistakes.... I know this as fact, because when I try to tell her otherwise and she sticks to her story, always...

My experience has always been different than yours, but as my wife says, I am always wrong...

EZA has always been a poor performer for my articles... So if you are right and I am wrong, then I must really suck as a writer, eh?

So has anyone else here also had any experience to suggest that EZA isn't the goose that always lays the golden eggs?
