What's the best method for driving traffic?

I'm curious as to what is the best way to get to that elusive first Google page. I've read threads on what not to do but I've not seen any advice on how to properly promote your site. I've been told in the past writing good articles with backlinks will get you there slowly but surely. Is this still the case? Does someone using white hat methods still need to just keep grinding it out in this sense?

    you can read about all the effecitve ways to get good ranks in the seo discussion pages as well as various war room posts and wsos for sale. time tested methods all work to increase ranks. there are many ways to do this. article marketing is one of them. press releases. bookmarking. videos. blog posts. profile links. etc etc etc. it is my experience that nothing happens over night as far as google ranks, but slow steady and consistent link building has given me results every time

      Yea. I've done alot of reading since I've joined these forums. I was just curious if there were certain methods my fellow warriors went with instead of others. Wanted to hear thoughts and opinions on what works for them. Video posting? Articles? Blogs?

        Hey Tiger Claw,

        You will need a combination of things in order to move up the ranks with google. But remember there are loads of ways of getting traffic to your sites, which do include posting to video sites, Facebook, article marketing etc

    I find submitting articles for backlinks to high quality article directories plus creating a web (or link wheel) on social media sites like squidoo/hub pages etc. has worked very well for me.

    The hardest thing for me isn't knowing what works - it's dealing with the drudgery of doing it. Looking forward to the point where I'm making enough money to pay someone else to do it!

    Backlinks from social bookmarks and articles work great as a start. Then you can follow up by getting different types of backlinks to your website. By this I mean things like forum links, web 2.0 links etc.

    Build the links gradually in the beginning. Its also important that you provide unique content on your sites. Create a blog on your site and post content on it from time to time. I know it might sound much..... but, it really isn't difficult.

    You can outsource some of these task when you start making some little cash.

    Sometimes yes, sometimes you will get lucky, there are certain SEO tactics that you can use but a lot of SEO is speculation because nobody really knows what Google wants, they just guess.

    I would go with article writing and getting some good backlinks. Also try to optimize the keywords in your pages.

    Backlinks provide a good long term solution that is sustainable. However there are other ways that are leading to first page results. Having an aged domain however can always prove useful if you want to get on first page and stay there and not jump from 1st to 4th page every other day.
