Do people actually use KIJIJI?

lol 99% of you probably never heard of it... but its EBAY's answer to craigslist.

But my question is... do any people here use it casually (not for marketing)

Because i like that you dont need PVA's to post.

Just running it by my fellow warriors to see the response.

I've never heard anybody mentioning that they use it.

EDIT: Wow looks like ebay rebranded the site to
    "ebay classifieds".

Traffic figures however seem to be "ok", but probably
too low for a company like Ebay:

I search for clients through it. Have landed a few because of listings in neighboring cities. That's all I've used it for.

I use it each and every day. It's a goldmine.

I sell stuff, I buy stuff, I resell stuff.

What's hot in my area right now is furniture.

I live close to our nation's capital. Lots of people move in and out on a regular basis due to government and military transfers. A search for 'urgent' or 'moving' or 'must sell' turns up a virtual gold mine.

I live in a fairly rural, remote area. However, I'm only an hour's drive from Ottawa. So I buy stuff, bring it home and resell it for a huge profit. There's no HST - the hated new tax in Ontario, on stuff being bought and sold on Kijiji. Which means MAJOR savings for consumers.

I also sell turnkey websites, links to my local directory and my writing services there and lots of other stuff, as well.

    For Free!

Woo Hoo - I LOVE Kijiji!

(I have the two domains listed in my sig file below listed on Kijiji - and after just two days they are very close to being sold. LOTS of qualified and interested bidders - in my area anyway!)

I have sold lots of stuff on it.

    - 2 motorhomes
    - 2 cars
    - 1 travel trailer
    - 1 computer
    - Lots of household stuff.

It is more popular than Craigs in Canada.

    ++ Edit ++

Forgot to mention I bought a car on there too and resold it at a profit in 2 days.

It's one of the most popular sites in Canada and has completely obliterated craigslist stance there, it will soon take over

    no personals section though

I used to be addicted to surfing craigslist but when actually looking for selection Kijiji gets 75% more postings in most city's here in Canada than craigslist.

Use it almost daily. Bought two vans, four motorized wheelchairs, numerous electronics. I've been selling objects and services successfully for years on Kijiji.

    Much better than Craig's List.

If I knew before the move - it would have been easier to ship it from Winnipeg . That's the crazy thing: it was among the few things we brought over from Manitoba just to figure out it is too big for the room. It needs a 34" door, no less!

          Chainsaw.

Kijiji has some nice paid options. You can bump a sinking ad to the top for $2 and the only time I did that it made me a few hundred.

I haven't used it for a couple of years but then it used to get about as many responses as Craigslist. It's news to me that they are still climbing.

Here in Canada everybody uses Kijiji... I have yet to meet anyone that has heard of Craigslist around where I live and I don't live in the boonies... I always say Kijiji is for Canadians and Craigslist is for the USA... kind of funny

Kijiji - the name has reference to tribal community AND the triangular location of the keys on a Qwerty keyboard. I think its a cool name actually. - at least after you pronounce it for the first time.

Anyway it a VERY useful tool here in Canada for small businesses. Classifieds on Kijiji generally outperform Craigslist listings. Kijiji also has a unique display for several images that can really improve your rankings of classified ads. I recommended ANY small business use Kijiji for their marketing, as I know first hand of it's effectiveness.

Im from NY.. Kijiji is not that popular here I must say..

It just goes to show that just because a platform/site is not popular to you (me in this case).. It SHOULD NOT be ignored.

Thanks all for the replies/feedback.. Much appreciated.
