Make $x,xxx in xx hours - What is your motivation?

Hi Warriors,

I've seen countless numbers of products and strategies in the WSO forum for "How I made $x,xxx in xx hours and how you can too". I know lots of you have purchased these and have been successful with them.

My question is, what is your primary motivation for focusing on these products and ideas?

Are you looking to make some quick cash?

Just getting started and looking for a proven system?

How do these ideas fit into your business plan (if you have one)?

The reason I ask is I'm curious what the attraction is.. I'm not knocking these products or ideas, just trying to figure out how people use them in their IM businesses.

Thanks for helping to shed some light on this for me!!

John

Wouldn't it be, to make money?

Also, it's great for the seller, even if it's a crappy product. It's a great buying trigger for these type of products if you tell them how much you or someone made with it, true or not, as the proof people need to buy. People are just desperate to make money and thus buy WSOs like this.

The truth is, some of the WSOs actually will help you make money like that, if you actually work hard and apply them.

And there's some, probably a smaller number these days, that are absolute BS and will not make you money because it either can't be repeated, doesn't really work and is just made up (seen on other forums on the web Warriors bragging about some WSO they just made up and said they made $x,xxx in a short time and got tons of people to buy the fake WSO, even though they had never even used this method themselves to make money) or leaves out tons of details.

It's funny when you buy a WSO that is still trying to sell you on the concept, instead of giving you solid details on how to implement it. There's one seller of WSOs who I've seen do this and I'll never name names but the WSOs are utter crap in both presentation and quality, if you take out all the spacing and fluff it would probably come to less than a page, but all over the big font and over spacing make it several pages, and 3/4s of the WSO is just still selling you on what a great way to make money this is even after you've already paid the money for it, the "feel good" factor I guess, and I guess it works as people give great reviews for the WSO, page after page. What they don't realize is they've been had and it's not a great WSO, but still they let themselves be sold to in the sales copy and the WSO itself and it seems like it's just a big circle of everyone saying it's great without even trying it causing more to buy, etc. The sales copy worked!

    Anyway...

The attraction is the psychological trigger that the headline provokes. It is a proven headline formula that psychologically gets the attention and the desire of the reader. So, that's why those threads are are usually pretty popular.

But, that's exactly why you should avoid those threads. Usually the people making those claims have no clue how to make money online. The only money they make is through the warrior forum WSO section.

It can get the attention of the FTC, too, if the text doesn't also contain the appropriately worded disclaimers about the income claim. I'm just saying.

The obvious question is why are people pushing these books to make money when they can be making the money themselves?

Because a lot of the methods work well small-scale, but become too much of a hassle to scale out. Which makes it more advantageous for them to just sell-out the idea for a lump sum payment. As long as you put in the required time and effort most will work, but as a consumer it's your responsibility to know that something which costs very little isn't going to be your ticket to the Hamptons.

    Hi all,
I am new to internet marketing. A friend told me to join a forum and mentioned this one first.
One comment that was expressed was: "Why are people pushing these books to make money when they can be making the money themselves?"
As someone new to this business, I have never thought of writing my own e-book, and also, selling other people's products is easy. Getting 30%-75% is a whole lot better than getting nothing. Sell enough and you have a fortune.
I hope my opinion is worth something.
I hope you all have a great rest of the day.

It's all psychological. When people are looking at these headlines, they are looking for a method that is going to whip them into several thousands of dollars at their disposal to fix their problems.
Most ideas that I have seen that are supposedly fast money deal with CPA "although you need to have some leverage/longevity" or you are dealing with black hat methods and even then, that's not guaranteed.

Your best bet, is to start from scratch or just work hard and I am sure that it will eventually pay out.

I've been trying to make money online for over a year now and only out of pure desperation, about three weeks ago, began paying attention to any marketing regarding it.

I started with Project Payday, yuck. But, researching the crap they were pushing, lead me to Brian Johnson's CommissionRitual; which is genuine; and, that lead me here.

All the 'easy money' and big dollar amounts always turned me off (still do).

I want to work. I just want it on my terms, and I want to be the one who benefits from it; not corporations, or lazy, greedy shareholders.

If you want to sell me, talk about those things. Tell me I can live life on my terms, and for my benefit.

Thank you everyone for your insights. I agree that the headlines are very compelling. I've seen some that made me start thinking of making a quick wad of cash in the span of a weekend.

I think there is a certain desperation factor involved in products like these as well. Especially for someone who has tried different methods and had little or no results and is about ready to give up.

The thing that surprises me the most is that these products are the polar opposite of a business building mentality to provide long-term value to your customers.. But they seem to work surprisingly well despite that fact.

I usually ask to see a chapter or so of the book to make sure its utter rubbish before i buy it. If i buy it. As to why I personally buy the book, because this guy is in the IM business. He is a competitor and for all i know he did make money doing everything in that book.. there is the small chance that upon reading the book i will find ONE good idea out of the whole book that i can turn around and convert into thousands...

I dont think at any point anyone actually plans to do exactly what is in the book... if you walk in the exact same direction as someone else you have to realize that he is ahead of you and getting all the good stuff.

So to not drift from the topic anymore the primary reason i buy it is to see his mind frame and the ideas that he used, and see if i can incorporate it into my business ideas as well. Engineers dont reinvent the wheel, you take it and make a car
