No format is unbreakable. Remember a few things

The better the drm the harder it is for your customers
The harder it is for your customers the less repeat business you get
No one ever proved if someone couldn't pirate your book they would buy it

Yep, if it has even a small hint of value, it will get stolen...welcome to digital product marketing!

Best thing is to try and be subtle about marketing yourself/your brand/your product within the guide so even if it is stolen, you still get some benefit.

I write using Word, save as PDF for downloaded to computer, which is the most universal. Convert to HTML for upload to Kindle (Amazon). Still looking at other formats for other bookreaders.

I'm not going crazy about trying to secure the PDF, anything can be broken, and if they really want it, if they can read it, they can have someone offshore transcribe it for them for nearly nothing. If they have Optical Character Recognition software, all they need to do is print it, scan it, and then OCR it. Most copy protection schemes only cause problems for legitimate customers, the bad guys will find a way to get it if they really want to anywayl.

      PDF is the standard.

They are about as secure as someone retyping the content.

Just remember, once you put your book out if it is something people can use someone will try to modify it to suit their needs.

They do call it the WORLD WIDE WEB!

Just save some for your other Ebooks you will write.

P.S. You know what they say if they copy it it must be good.

    There are no way...

They can and will copy it at will... PDF's, DOC's or others...

Just think for a second about the only way I can figure it out:

"Sell an auto explosive book, e-book or whatever, that make it kill the audience after the joy of reading it, viewing it, or hearing it" Then your "whatever" won't be recommended... You won't sell it anymore...

Don't worry about What they will do, How they will copy it...!
Just Publish it in whatever media you find the best, Make money and keep it going with the next best content you have...

As a matter of fact Should I won't publish my knowledge for fear someone can copy it?

What do you think about, Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, Newton, Lavosier, Einstein, Pasteur, Pythagoras, Al Guarismi, etc...

To sell it i think the best is selling it in clickbank.

Using .pdf allows you to prevent the text being copied, but the ebook itself can be shared. To prevent your ebook for being stolen once you've launched it, you can search with google, your ebook title + rapidshare or torrent. Use DMCA notice to remove it.

I wrote my eBook in OpenOffice Writer (free software) and created a PDF, which I then uploaded to my eJunkie account which sends my eBook for just $5/month.

    Dirt cheap, 100% effective.
