Internet Marketing Story...first GOLDEN NUGGET

Most successful (or at least full-time) internet marketers I know have that one story that they love sharing. The one story where they "saw the light" and realized the potential in internet marketing. That first sale, first big day, first customer, or first golden nugget campaign.

They smile ear to ear when they tell the story....

What is YOUR story? When did you see the light or find your golden nugget?

FOR FUN: If you smile as you write your story here put a nice big within the post!

I had a golden nugget moment a few years ago. This is more about tangible products than digital downloads, but the same school of thought could cross over.

I was selling medical equipment online to the seniors market. I had many devices private labeled for me. It was the exact same equipment being sold by doctors for ten times the price, but it just had my label on it.

I undercut the hell out of those docs and thought that my products would fly off the shelf. They didn't. At least not right away.

That's when I decided to try a little test. I raised the price. In fact, I tripled my prices. They were still lower than the rest of the industry, but triple the price that I sold for just the day before. I didn't make any changes to any of my advertising or marketing. I simply tripled my prices.

Guess what else tripled? Yup, my sales. INSTANTLY!

I learned that people want a bargain, but they also want to feel like they are getting a bargain on something of quality. My original prices were so much lower than the rest of the industry, they must have thought that the quality was that much lower too.

I guess the takeaway here is for you to always test the elasticity of your pricing and find that sweet spot. Proper pricing on quality products is your key.

I seen the light before I even got started to have the World at your fingertips from your spare bedroom or office with very low start up costs is amazing.

I can make sales in China, U.K, Brazil, Japan, etc... etc...

While in my office in the U.S? Naaw too good to be true.....

Internet marketing has opened up a lot of doors for me and many many others as well.... Gotta love the Internet and the power it brings to the table.

    Best invention ever...

Oh and when I made my first sale years ago that motivated me even more There is my big smile :p

Do you believe giving away a bunch of FREE stuff is better for more
sales? Do you believe giving away a ebook or free video will convert
a freebie seeker into a buyer?

How would you feel If I told you does not? Would you want to defend
    your position?

That's okay. I would EXPECT you to. Besides, that's what we've been
taught from the beginning. "Give away a bunch of free stuff because
it's the ONLY way you will attract buyers".

I asked myself, "But, if I'm giving away free stuff...won't I attract
    freebie seekers?"

    It just didn't add up.

So, I did my research. Worked on myself. Looked at Tony Robbin videos
and came to this forum where I read a post from ccmusicman (great guy).

HE challenged my long term belief on "making money, sales, and business.

It didn't take longer than 3 days for me to ACCEPT that if I wanted
a different result, I would have to change.

    So I did.

Thanks to Mr.Robbins and people like ccmusicman, I switched gears and
got rid of all the "free stuff" I was giving away and CHARGED money
    for it (GASP!).

The results were astonishing. All along I was AFRAID of making money
and when I decided not to be afraid anymore and face my fear head on,
turned out making money selling products instead of giving it away
is one major key to successful marketing.

    *** Truth #2 ***

Making money is "a piece of cake".

So what makes it so hard?

Us. We do. we make it moire difficult than it really is, and it has
nothing to do often times with the method or system you use. It's all
    you.

I've only been able to make as much money as the value I give and the
person I am at the moment.

Money is a measure of who YOU believe you are and how much you believe
you're worth. You're personal beliefs will determine WHAT business you
do and how hard you work to get good at it

    *** Truth #3 ***

Being a leader is more important to your overall success than you think.

Leaders ALWAYS make the most money. Get the most women (or males).

Get the MOST options. Get the most choices. Get the most "love". Get
    the most attention.

But being a leader starts with you.

The better I am at business, dealing with customers, working with part-
ners...the better the person (and leader) I know I am becoming.

Unless you come across a sudden windfall (lottery) or inheritence where
leadership isn't required for either, you will need to step up and lead
yourself to victory before others can help you get there.

So, that's it. These are some of the "lightbulbs" that turned on in my
head that guided me to where I am now. I vividly remember HOW I went
from where I was to where I am and these are VERY real truths I learned
applied to MANY other successful business people I personally know --
    including millionaires I know --

My NUGGET moment was when I realized that I can make more money by creating my own products, then by promoting affiliate offers. It is a lot better to start building up and promoting your own business, than it is building other people's.

And since I started creating my own products, I have been doing a lot better in Internet Marketing. Only the sky is the limit now.

Hmm. I suppose I always "knew" that IM was a real thing, and over time that belief became more concrete as I learned more.

But my first real gold moment was when I landed a $1000 sale from an offline client. That showed me not only that there is big money in the offline niche, but that when you put the right offer in front of the right person, you can make big money.

I would like to contribute to the "small" success story, if it is a success. I have purchased one product from my friend which was free. My success story has just begun, but many small successes that are slowly but surely helping me towards a bigger success, I guess. Hopefully...
