criteria for choosing CB product besides gravity

so it seems alexa popularized the idea that choosing a CB product based on highest gravity is actually a bad idea. in that case, what parameters should one look for? and as far as gravity goes, is there an optimal range? as in what's too low, and too high?

I don't look at those parameters these days. I check the reputation of the product owner and the true quality of the product before I take my final decision.

I have really had a lot of refunds despite putting the parameters into consideration.

    Uniqueness.

Don't choose what the masses are promoting... real newbie move.

Find NEW products. Unique products. And something that matches your existing userbase/contact list.... its just easier.

    I only choose products

    -offer affiliate tools
-do not have an optin on the sales page
-have a salespage that would really make me want to buy
-commissions of at least $20per sale

CbEngine is a good tool to use, it gives you the ability to sort for different parameters.

It is a subscription service but you can get the free trial to check it out.

      Good Luck

I choose products that offer at least 50% and give me credit for upsells or downsells, and that have a good sales page (good copy, good graphics...)

Also be careful if some cb vendors offer a free gift so they can get the email adress of your visitors and sell them with their own cb id...so you dont get any commmission...that doesent mean that all the vendors who offer a free gift do that (i would say 95% are honest but a few vendors use this strategy...)

    just check it for yourself
