Building a list is simple you just need a few tools to get started.

    1. Autoreponder
    2. place to host your squeeze page (blog or site)
    3. something to give away
    4. squeeze page

Once you have these things you will want to start driving traffic to your squeeze page in order to get some opt-ins. You can drive traffic many ways. I will list some.

    1. Pay Per Click
    2. Article Marketing
    3. Video Marketing
    4. Solo Ads
    5. Giveaway events
    6. ad swaps (once your list grows some)
    7. almost forgot forum marketing

This of course is not the end all be all list but its a start. Maybe I have sparked some new questions now.

I would also use twitter, facebook pages and facebook ads, linkedin ads and social media ads. I'd also try out ppv / cpv advertising for getting people to your squeeze page

    You can also use:
    -press releases
    -jv's (joint ventures)
    -squidoo lens
    -yahoo answers
    -banner ads
    -blogging

To name but a few more

Yes, and the list goes on.
I also used traffic exchanges for this.

If you are doing everything your self, I would focus on 3 different traffic methods at one time. Otherwise, you'd get too overwhelmed... Just start with 1-2 that you like, and expand into other methods as you can afford to outsource.

    Man...

Building a list is hard work (but good on you for realizing its importance enough to do something in that direction).

And its not as easy as the gurus make it seem... you'll need to flood your website with consistent traffic for a long time.

    >> SEO
    >> Facebook Ads
    >> Google Content Network
    >> Google Adwords (search engines)
    >> Joint Ventures
    >> Your Blogs (seo)

Choose 1 major tactic (I suggest JVs, not just one but like 50 JVs, yup 50.) and then once this traffic is stable...go choose another tactic and maintain it... then go choose another and another one by one.

A special report (I recommend turning the report into an audio) to give away on your squeeze page and choose 3 affiliate products to sell via email first... you'll need about 9 emails per product... so 27 emails to sell your 3 affiliate products...

Its a big task to do.

But before you jump in any direction... your first step is to get your squeeze page going, give away something your market would consider valuable.

Go ahead get that first step done first....

    + Get your domain ".com"
    + Get your free report
+ Get your eCover for your report
    + Build your squeeze page
+ Hook it up to Aweber.com

    There do that first.

    Hans...

Is it just me or do you actually have a link in your sig
to a site with a headline that says...

    "Finally...Quick & Easy
    Tips to Building a Large
    and Highly Profitable
    Email marketing List !"

You're asking how to build a list with a link
to a site that purports to tell people how to
    build a list????

    Am I missing something here?

  • Just started my list building effort today. I'm in a traffic exchange, on Twitter and have a blog of sorts. Seen a decent amount of hits but no sign-ups so far. I guess I'm in the same boat as the OP. What are some techniques to supercharge the process?
