Hi

Where can you get free pictures to use on your website / blog ?

And where is the best place to get them ?

Can you use the ones on Google Images ?

If it's something simple, you can always just take some yourself... obviously it depends on the niche though.

I use PhotoXpress at Stock Photos | Royalty Free Subscription Images and Pictures | PhotoXpress.

You can have 10 free pictures a day for free with a nice quality and easy to download.

I have to agree that PhotoXpress has a very beautiful free selection. Much higher quality than Stockxching. Just be sure to follow the TOS when using them.

Now here is a sweet little tip. If you don't feel like searching through tons of photos, use photodropper (plug in for WP) and pull in pics automatically. The pics are not always high quality and search words can turn up some funny things but it is fast and easy. I use it on one of my sites where I just need a little picture filler for each article.

Be CAREFUL with free images so you don't get into trouble with copyright issues.

I second Fernando's link to stock exchange.

    Also try morguefile.com

    Low cost - bigstockphoto.com and istockphoto.com

    Hope it helps!

watch the creative commons use. It doesnt imply commercial use and you often need to give credit.

      Correct...

I often find useful pictures on Flickr by using the advanced search function and specifying CC commercial use. I have no quibble with providing a credit.

I didn't see anybody mentioning this yet. Google has special settings for searching out commercial images with reuse rights...
