Is it a Big No No to Email Craigslist Advertisers About a Service?

INTERNET MARKETING

I realize it says on the ads that it's not okay to contact them to offer services, etc, but I also have seen a lot of people recommend finding services this way. Is it just one of those things they never really raise a fuss about or what's the real deal?

DON'T. Do. This. It's is so ****ing annoying and you'll go straight to the junk inbox. I used to get crap like this when I posted on Craigslist and think of the mood you put someone in: They think they've got someone interested in what they have to sell, only to find that instead they have some pitch from a guy about his "service" he can offer them. It gets deleted within .2 seconds and leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

You know what? You just cam across a black-hat secret that some millionaires have been (trying to) sell on some (supposedly) internet marketing forums.

  LOL No I didn't. This is recommended by a lot of people who push offline marketing as business model. In fact, I believe all times I picked up on this was on this forum--that and a couple offline forums--but not blackhat.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying. I've heard a lot of people recommending hitting people up with an offer for a free or extremely cheap website when they were obvious companies or service providers with no website. A lot of offline marketers have gotten work that way. In most cases, I wouldn't consider it, but I figured because it was such a targeted offer that it might work.

Thanks for the input--and yeah, I'm not really looking to be an annoying marketer.
