The best wordpress theme for me is twentyten. The default theme with wordpress 3.0.1

The main advantage is we can modify as we like.

One of the best I have found and have used for the last 2 years is StudioPress - Premium WordPress Themes. They are not the cheapest but the support and commitment to provide excellent well coded and cross browser themes is superb.

The question is meaningless... because you didn't give enough info. "Best" for what?

People get obsessed about WP themes as if that was the most important factor in a blog. Well, it isn't. Your content is the most important.

Your content, its organization, your target should define what theme to use. Without having all that info there is no "best" theme...

If you're looking for a theme that's optimized for online marketing, I'd recommend Socrates. They have made it easy to add in revolving Banner Ads etc... It also has a nice clean look & you can customize your header.

I'd say Thesis and Colormatic. We usually use this themes for our client since it's highly customizable and you can make any design out of these base themes.

The best theme depends on what your goal is.

When I started out I couldnt find a theme that matched my goal, so I wrote my own, and that was the best theme for me (which also ended up being right for others too as it appears other people want the same things).

Theres plenty of good themes out there, but narrow down your goal and you might come up with a nice manageable list

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Builder theme by iThemes.

The functionality is amazing and you can build practically any kind of site you want, but it's not free.

This theme intrigues me... but I consistently hear less than great things about it so I haven't pulled the trigger on it.

I'm a big fan of all of the Woo Themes designs. They are very reasonably priced, updated regularly, and are very easy to customize. In my opinion I would use them over any of the free themes I've seen-they are well worth the cost.

Well if you know Wordpress and can design your own theme's that's the best. Or, you can download a free WP theme and use that as a starting base and put in your custom touches.

I do both of these myself. I have purchased a couple Premium themes but still like sticking to my own doing.

+1 for content value over theme. Great content can overcome a weak theme, but even the best theme can't overcome crappy content.

That said another +1 for Genesis by StudioPress. Great SEO. Incredibly flexible. Easy to work with. And one of the largest, most robust support communities to get your questions answered quickly.

I just started using Theme Frame to build my own themes. I am so very picky these days. After two years of modifying free themes, I am looking forward to creating exactly what I know I need in a custom theme. Anybody else using Theme Frame?

I personally like the Twenty Ten theme for lots of my selling sites as it will not break and as they update it will also get updated.

Works with most plugins and easy to customize for a newbie.

If you load the wordpress weaver you can click to customize instead of playing with code.

Example: Kids Clothing Toys and Things

my favorite is one called iNove

It has the ability to place banners in the header (great for adwords) and well as the other options I look for like sidebar on the right and widgets. . .

I use this theme for a few niche WP blogs.

    Good Luck

When someone writes a key word or a key phrase in the box of Goo's search … or any other seeker, it is looking for information, and the aspect of the support of the information that searches is secondary.

With all my respect, in IM it is important not to distract the visitor of our page with incidental things and without value for our commercial ends.

    A lot of luck
