Moving existing Wordpress.com site to Wordpress.org?

Hi Warriors,

Hoping you can help.

I have an established Wordpress.com blog that I want to move across to Wordpress.org. I have the domain and hosting with Wordpress.org set up there, but have never transferred a blog before and am wary of losing all of my existing site.

Can anyone help or point me in the direction of a guide to this?

    That can NOT be true. WordPress.org doesn't sell domains and doesn't offer hosting. It just has the script that you can download from there to be used on your own domain and hosting.

      That's right, but the second sentence above I think, sums up what the op probably means, but just has not explained clearly.

      She wants to transfer the blog to her own domain and hosting.

      That's my reading of it anyway.

    I understand what the OP wants... it's just my WP-related OCD that doesn't let me tolerate statements that don't make sense
