It's actually not hard to make money with IM, right?
It has also mass produced a virtual colony of people who think common business practices don't apply.
Look, just cause you got a computer and are slick with the technical stuff, doesn't mean that people are going to buy what you are selling.
You may get a person or two to click on your ads, or even purchase your eBook, but at the end of the day, those who are REALLY successful are those who do their homework. If your business revolves around selling, take some courses on selling, read some books on selling, understand the psychology behind selling.
This is YOUR business. This is a reflection of YOU.
At the end of the day, you gotta love what you do. If you can't stand affiliate marketing, I don't care if your buddy made a killing doing it, don't go into it. You won't be motivated, you'll dread doing it, and you'll feel like a loser when what you made can't even buy you a cup of coffee. Develop a passion for what you do, not just for money.
Here are some things I want you to consider:
1. What are you doing to make your current customers/followers happy?
Are YOU, on a daily/weekly/basis, investing your TIME in making sure your customers are happy? You HAVE to make sure they are satisfied, and don't regret buying your product or paying for your service. Send them free stuff, offer them value, hell, send them a couple coupons for online stores. I don't care what you do; make sure your customers are happy.
2. How good is your content?
Don't get into the habit of thinking, "oh it's just an ebook, who cares about the spelling." Look, people are PAYING for your products. If what you are selling is not the BEST, you can say bye to your customer, and pretty soon, you'll witness your business come crumbling faster than a house built on sand. Polish whatever you write, read it over and over again, edit it, then read it again, THEN put it out there. If you are making videos, make sure they are of the highest quality. I don't want to pay for something that looks like it was recorded on your helmet cam when you were running after Bigfoot.
3. Networking is more than going to socialmarker and bookmarking your website
Get out there and talk to other people. Open up your Skype, talk to people who are in the same business you are. Talk to your potential customers, talk to consultants who can give you solid advice. NETWORK. Learn the ART of networking. How effective do you think you'll be if you just leave your business card on the table of a prospect? Not effective, right? Well, what makes you think just because you sent somebody an email, they'll automatically buy from you? You gotta network, you gotta talk to them, gotta get to know them, and only then will you get a sale.
I hope I've given you some food for thought. Take it for what it's worth.
Until next time,
starMo.
