Well, you'd be surprised at how well Amazon products convert at certain times of the year, especially during the end of the year when the holiday shoppers will be out there online in full force!

Personally for me, although Clickbank has higher commissions, I always found it's far easier to convert Amazon sales - probably because your customers often end up buying random items that may have nothing to do with the original item you were promoting - but you still get commission for that.

Amazon converts well for me. 6 - 8% is very typical - and at this time of the year it can be considerably higher.

I don't hard promote Amazon but it converts. I just put a small link at the bottom of my article and I get occasional sales. Best part is sometimes the customers buys a product I don't promote. Also the Amazons up-sells are amazing.

Overall, Amazon unquestionably converts far, far better for affiliates.

You can see that from the fact that Amazon are paying on average about 6%/7% commissions, and Clickbank vendors nearer 60%/70% commissions. The conversion-rates of one are about ten or twenty times higher than the other, typically.

Of course, it doesn't follow at all from that that you can make more money from one than from the other.

They require very different skills and approaches.

Amazon affiliates who do well are typically aiming at traffic comprising people who've already decided what to buy, and the question is where/how they're going to buy it. Clickbank affiliates who do well are typically attracting niche traffic, building lists and promoting through relationships with people on those lists. Completely different approaches.

I like both, sometimes at the same time. Sell someone a manual on how to do something through clickbank, and then in the manual, have links to all of the tools they'll need through amazon.

Personally I think people are more sceptical about buying stuff from Clickbank than Amazon, I think Amazon is great especially as you can get commission for making an untargeted referral, still there is a one day cookie so if the person buys 25 hours later you're not getting jack.

My first sale was through clickbank but generating that sale took a hell of a lot more effort and time than it took to shift my first Amazon product, if you're a beginner familiar with blogging and SEO then Amazon is a great affiliate program for learning the ropes.

Nearly everyone has heard of Amazon, Clickbank just isn't as well known and the products are harder to sell so the rewards for making a sale are higher.

I do both as well. I have Amazon sites but give away a free PLR report related to the niche, build a list and promote Clickbank products.

As far as conversion goes. Amazon converts at around 9% for me vs the 1% average on Clickbank.

      Cheers

To be fair, it's difficult to answer something like that without knowing the niche

    Greetings Iva,

Amazon will give you a much higher conversion rate as you are dealing with physical products.

Clickbank will give a much higher commission and should be tried as well.

Split testing your traffic strain, could give you the answer?

Or offer both options on a website, and keep close track of the clicks and the ROI.

Clickbank is my preference, however, offering both makes a lot of sense.

If you are doing review websites, you could do reviews for the Clickbank products and then offer Amazon product as well ... just watch to see which one produces the most dollars for you.

    All the best ... Ron

I recently started promoting Amazon products, but have not had any sales yet
as far as clickbank I do have made money with them

It all depends on what state the buyer is on, in looking to buy mode, or just browsing for info mode

Amazon products will convert better on the whole. period.

Though you could get just as high conversions from both when you've got the right traffic.

    They are both great..

I'd also add CJ into the mix.

They all function well for different niches.
I would have a mix of 2 on any given squeeze page/niche site, maybe via a side widget of some sort, and one being the prime offer.
