Highway BILLBOARDS! Anyone try it?

Called on some highway billboards last week seems pretty cheap. $200-$400 a month (assuming 1 year contract)

Only called one but gives me an idea of roughly what they cost. That included artwork/install/maintance etc...

Anyway fair amount of traffic on the highway.

Obviously couldn't say a lot just pic/ some text with a catchy website or phone #.

But with lots of smartphones out there wondered if anyone had tried this before?

Love to hear from you if you did.

You must be looking at some pretty low-traffic billboard locations. I used to buy BB space for clients years ago an in major markets the cost for hi-traffic was MANY thousands per month....$6,000. plus was typical, if i recall. So, for so little it may be worth testing.

I never tried it but, the ones that intrigue me the most have like black background white huge text and just states an web site with a interesting domain name. I usually will check it out once I get to a computer.

I checked these out for my business as well. They were about $4000 a month plus. I wonder where you could find them for $200 a month.

Hey Ty, Here is the exact quote from the billboard company. "1. 10' x 32', in size, located on the south side of I-30 at mile marker 110 exit,
Cumby, Tx., 8 miles west of Brashear. Presently we are offering this billboard to
lease at $225.00 net per month with a 1 year lease contract. "

I'm assuming it varies wildly from location to location, similar to real estate. A billboard with an LA zip is going to carry a much higher price tag than one in a less affluent area, even if the traffic is similar.

Yeah, I agree, I checked out local bb for ads here in L.A. and wow, easily 4-5 grand a month, but it is a high traffic area

Back in 1999 I used billboards, but I never got them as cheap as you are saying they are. I paid about $5000 a month per billboard.

yeah ones I am talking about aren't intown. They are on the highway from one city to another etc...

Out in the country I guess you could say but still traffic. Not 2 lane roads but still a major highway.

With a slogan like "You can see this , but can people see your website" could be a nice one for off liners...

    Just a thought
