best way to try and get a refund via paypal?

Hi

I bought a service a couple of weeks ago but after waiting and waiting it now looks amlost certain i am not getting anything. the fact is I have given up on it now. I am certain he'll also ignore my request for a refund.

So what's the best way to lodge the complaint with paypal? I put it down as a product. Is there a way I can lodge the complaint which stops the "scammer" being given rights to my money and drastically improves my chances of getting what is rightfully mne back? End of the day I paid for something I never got so I should get my $$'s back.

i.e i know if it's electronic goods P.P almost always sides with the seller. When do they almost always side with the buyer? Physical product not received?

Thanks

You absolutely MUST as the seller for a refund. It doesn't matter if they wont give it. Don't expand, just tell them you are not satisfied and require a refund. Wait 24 hours and until you get some help here. Then approach PP. Grrr paypal just sucks.

Yeah if a seller can't show proof that a product was delivered they will come down hard on the seller.

You did right to ask the question, the seller can escalate a complaint and basically block you from adding more information so make sure you have all your ducks in row when you complain.

There are probably people here better able to help you than me as I've not faced this much myself.

Did you pay with a credit card or debit to you bank account. If you did, your bank can help you even if Paypal refuses too. You might put your account into peril buy doing a charge back but I would not let that stop me.

I try to never buy with paypal funds for that very reason. I send it all to my bank account and use my debit card to pay. I learned that the hard way.

Back in the day, paypal would just flat ignore you sometimes time. Not even respond when I had a problem with a very underhanded trick used by some virtual phone number company that use to be very popular and well known. Their shenanigans though finally was their downfall.

Sorry to hear that you did not get what you paid for yet, but that quote above can't be true. How could you be certain before you ask? The very first thing that you need to do is ask the seller for a refund. If your assumption is correct, then you go to PayPal and file a dispute.

Because I already told him one week ago unless this was up and running in 2 days I wanted a refund.....he completley ignored that part. Then 4 days ago I said I was not happy at all and unless it is running by tomorrow to refund me....nothing. Zilch.

I didn't flat out ask for my money back but I hinted unless he delivers as promised to do the "right thing" and I stil lsee no $$$ back form him.

This is a mid priced service as well. quite a few hundred $$'s.

Thanks guys for your replies. Should have paid on my C.C.

I don't think I've ever had to do this before.....I just want to make sure I do it right and get back what was scammed from me.

Try emailing him again and saying if you don't get a refund in 24 hours you will submit a refund request through paypal. Maybe he will refund you rather than get the charge back.

Then if he does not, go into your paypal account and press the appropropriate button to file for a refund. Then the burden will be on him (or her?) to prove you received what you paid for and when they can't you will get your money back.

PayPal should grant you a refund after the complaint. They are very buyer friendly these days. Heck, you could probably buy a house online, burn it down because you didn't like the color, and then ask PayPal to refund the money.

He he, I am off to buy my dream home then. NOT.

I would reiterate what I said to two of my subscribers yesterday. I would contact the seller first and see if they communicate with you. That way if something goes wrong or you want a refund, you just email them politiely and tell them why.

You will have a better chance 90% chance of getting a refund if you know the seller at least checks their email

You must ask for the refund. Don't be shy. Ask, if you don't get it take it to paypal.

When you take it to Paypal, put EVERYTHING in the first request. If you don't, he'll escalate it prevent you from adding more information to it.

Despite what people are telling you, when you buy digital products it is harder to get a refund. The buyer protection policy usually applies to only physically shipped goods.

Always use your credit card to pay. If you do that, paypal already knows you can file a charge back with the credit card issuer and get your money back. Paypal hates that! Don't do a charge back though unless you have too. Paypal will be looking for a way to get rid of you if you do that.

Be very careful where you spend your money. I think Clickbank adds a level of protection. 60 days money back and you don't even have to give a reason.

No one asked you what you thought dude.

Sloanjim, yes as per another warrior just send a dispute with paypal, its very easy. You should have your money back within a day or two max. Dont even bother with the seller.

If you've entered an initial request for refund and no go, open a dispute with paypal saying the seller has not honored their guarantee.

Sorry, PayPal will dismiss your dispute if you choose to file and then later escalate it. Seems that they will only take action if one does not receive some sort of material goods that they ordered. Anything else is pretty much between you and your vendor...

You have little or no standing for quality, representation, usability, or performance.
