product creation MUST HAVE tools.

I made a quick video about what you need in your toolbox to create your own online products - EBooks, Videos.

TechSmith | Screencast.com, online video sharing, Product Creation Toolbox MUST HAVES

As well, I touched on writing... or rather talking your book, article etc.

These are all free:
MS Word
Open Office
jing
Camtasia
windows speech recognition tool

I know there are others, but these are what I have used.

any others to be listed would be helpful.

Cheers!

It's not just about what the tools you have but what you do with them

    Cool voice recognition tool though.

I haven't used snagitt/ScreeshootIt, but my brother in law uses it for his trading stuff.

    Action outline.

Its an awesome directory like organizer for text. Think of it like windows explorer with wordpad combined.

I don't know of any all-in-one software. Run with it!!!

The thing is, for video, you want the people who specialize in video, for pdf you want the same thing...etc. You turn out a better product that way. Usuall in an all-in-one usually only one or two things are really good in it, and the rest are basically attempts at getting it right.

My adobe package cost me $2700.00 dollars, and I still use it to edit pics, etc. but that's it. I don't publish a magazine anymore, so I don't use the "full suite".

I have tried lots of things, and this is the most hassle free way for me to do what I need to do.

this is just about building the digital oroduct for online purposes. then there is the whole traffic, sale, sales funnel stuff as well.

  • I have not used Microsoft's voice recognition tool but I recently purchased Dragon Naturally Speaking 11. Wow I am not sure how I got along with out it. I have worked hard on getting a decent typing speed but could never type at the speed I dictate.
It seems the faster I go with the Dragon software the more accurate it is. This has cut the time it takes me to write a video script by half at least.
Not only that I now carry a digital voice recorder with me so I can record my dictation while I am out and about. I simply bring that home and have Dragon transcribe the file. This has worked great not only for idea generation but actually product creation as well.

    Just my thoughts,

    Ben

haven't heard of dragon. i just knew that the VR included in windows was there and it is helpful.

i went to a seminar once and it was about "talking your book" and he was recording his vioce then, having it transcribed. then he sent it to a ghost writer to put it in book form.

after learning the VR on windows, the transcription is done.

      thanks!

This is a great resource someone could make a pdf and create a product with it

Why stop there how about making a product that is first in written form. then you speak it -audio version. then you record it -video tutorials. then you add say a software that compliments it do up a website and you just made a complete-BIAB and if the software is PLR you can use a program called pe explorer in which you can literally rebrand the entire thing

    Tools
    camtasia studo free trial available
    Note/word pad,
windows 7 has it's own audio recognition tool otherwise you can use dragon naturally speaking.
    PE Explorer
    bullpdf
    Audacity
For the web page for the product you can use KompoZer - Easy web authoring
Graphics you can get some great ones at Public Domain Pictures - Free Stock Photos
Open office is the best office program and can obviously open many different formats.
You can literally create a heck of a product using free/trial tools
then when you gain sales you can buy it outright.
    Awesome thread!
