My Internet Marketing Time Managment Secrets!

Folks I know hardly a fraction of what most of you do. You've helped me so much already and I want to be able to provide some value back.... So here it goes!

All I've know up to this point mostly has been article marketing so I can't share much there but I can share a few rules that have changed the way I work for the better which revolutionized my productivity and consistency. I've absolutely needed to stay on task. These rules have helped me immensely!

#1. I have a specific time set only for Internet Marketing! This is the law!

(3 hours, five hours, 7 hours.. this keeps it simple deciding before hand)

#2. I set my alarm clock to go off when I'm done with IM work for the day.

(a specific block of time allows me to work hard and stay focused. the alarm allows me to focus on work without focusing on time)

#3. I shut off my cell phone (actually turned off)

(this helps me a ton! text messages and calls are not what I need when working...gotta treat it like a real job)(I'll get my messages later)

#4. I'm only allowed to pull up or look at Marketing websites on my computer during my daily time block! No play websites. No mixing work with pleasure!LOL

(only exception i-tunes since I work well under music. No other websites! no friends emails etc!!)

#5. I'm not allowed to look at clickbank during my work block.

(For me this was a big one!!! I obsess here way to easy. Not allowing clickbank views changed the way I work for the better.)

#6. I strive for 2 parts work and 1 parts study.

(I mostly do the grit work. when that's out of the way I'm allowed to research and share with all you kind folks)

#7. I shot off my computer at the end of my daily work block and use other rituals to trigger my brain and symbolize my work day over.

(If I do internet marketing and then right after start looking at media websites for fun, it does something to my brain. I think it subconsciously mixes and confuses my notion of what my computer symbolizes. I use a ritual to mentally note the shift of work on the computer vs play.. When the work hour is done I shut off the computer, turn on my cell phone, go get the mail, run my errands and then I'm allowed to come back and play on my computer...)

Note: the last tip could be related to that super cheezy movie I love called "Over The Top" with Silvester Stallone. He plays a famous arm wrestler and turns his ball cap backwards for every arm wrestling event!) lol

Hope this helps. This is how I've learned to kick ass better and double productivity. Hopefully it's something I can contribute to a team that already knows so much! I appreciate your help Good luck and thanks again! -Carson

Managing time is one of the hardest things for self employed people. It really does help to have a schedule, like the one that you posted. But, how many self employed people can ever say that there is a time that they are not working? You can shut off the computer, but it is very difficult to tell your brain to stop thinking. I guess weed would help with that.
