I spend my whole adv budget in mobile PPC!

Hey guys, it's my conclusion with PPC in mobile marketing. I tried it, and I say it now:
  1. to get a good result (profit) with ppc you need to tweak and watch your ad day after day, especially when starting off
  2. If you don't do it then you'll just waste your money
  3. in mobile PPC , it's cheap, but if you don't have high converting sales page, squeeze page, that's high converting, you'll just waste your money.
  4. if you don't have a high converting squeeze page, or you haven't done mobile ppc before, then I have to say that you have to be very careful because you still have to tweak it from zero to hero of your ad
That's all I got. I will spend some more to get positive ROI about it.

    Visimedia,

Looks to me like you've posted the guidelines that EVERY PPC user should follow, and that has been around for years.

And I thought you'd found some new "Whiz-Bang" information.

  • Thanks for sharing,

I also have tried mobile ppc a few times , And what I have realized is that if you want to
advertise in your site through mobile ppc then you should have a highly mobile devices optimized version of your site and also the conversion rate of mobile visitors is also not as high as from PC visitors.

Yes, I just share it and hopefully you'll find this post useful.

(I think a lil thx button will be OK guys).

    ------------

    I tried 2 niches:
    -make money online
    -dating

I just target US and I think dating niche works better than make money online niche.

The downside using mobile PPC ad network (admob) is we can't go into very detail like keyword selection.

However I like it, and I'll try it again in near future with better planning.

I think you really have to prepare a landing page with a GREAT conversion if you don't want to waste your money and time, and turn your effort into cash.

Yes, I will LITERALLY do this in the next effort.

One thing you absolutely have to do with mobile PPC is to test your landing/squeeze pages to make sure that they are easily readable on mobile devices and smart phones! You have the option of advertising only on the Apple iPhone and iPod touch platform with Admob, and if you select this option then it is just a simple matter of optimizing your pages so that they display properly and are touch-optimized for the iPhone/iPod touch.

Some good points in this thread. I have been testing the bejesus out of mobile marketing, and have been making money off it. BUT, it does not come easy (like many will have you believe).

My views so far - you have to test all permutations and combinations in terms of targeting - so country, handset, channels, different networks, etc etc etc. It actually leads to some 500+ options if you work it out. Man, it's tough!

BUT, if you have the patience to do that.. you WILL find a winner that can start earning you $30-40 in profits every day.

I'm also testing mobile list building a lot.. some very interesting results, but that's for some other day.

    Cheers,
    Alok
