Backlink diversity - posting actual URLS?

Hey guys,
Im curious.....

We all know that anchor text backlinking is important, however, Im wondering.....can it be overdone?

At the moment Im promoting a site and Im pushing a combination of 3 kephrases as my anchor text, and Im wondering if I should start pushing my actual URL as the backlink itself?

Would this be deemed as more "natural" rather than continual keyphrase backlinks?

Anyone here have any personal experience with this?

Natural backlinks are fine, they split your ranking accross every keyword your website is trying to rank for.

    Example.

If your link was worth 100 points and you had 100 keywords, it would give 1 point to each ranking keyword instead of 100 points to that one keyword.

Source: Unknown, but I have been told it works and I have seen results myself.

You are now entering the realm of randomized link wheels....

If you are submitting everything manually, don't worry about it. if you are using software to submit to sites... then you should get out your hydrospanner and tune up your hyperdrive young padawan.

    google just doesn't want spam.

backlink your url with bookmarks you can never REALLY do too much backlinking!

The key to backlinking is to go deep deep deep with your links. you may want to backlink your backlinks.

So, no. You really can't overdo it. If you are using software... be careful... just make your links four or five deep. That should be enough to throw them off the trail.... hahaha!

Hey man, thanks for sharing that video - awesome! I understand exactly what you are doing. Interesting .....

So far Ive been pushing my home page only, and its taking longer than Id like. In some cases, a few months. I need to expidite this process, so Ill try deeper and more diversified backlinking.

    Interesting....

Perhaps I should start backlinking "deeper" into my site, rather than just the home page?

I backlink per page, I do not concerntrate on my homepage that often, unless it is a one standing page.

It depends, if you have a shopping cart, the main focus would be on your products and using niche keywords around them.

If you have a sales page, you may focus 100% on the sales page.

      Regards

The best advice I've heard is to create backlinks to your content, not your website. In other words, link to internal pages with the relevant content.

If you think about it, that's how you do it when you send a link to a friend.

I wish I could give credit for it, but I can't remember where I first heard it.

EDIT: if you are backlinking manually, then just concentrate the pages with the content.

i could backlink deep because i had an excess of resources, and i didn't know if you had software or not.

keep doing what you are doing, the site itself doesn't matter too much. it's the content that matches the keywords that matters

The more natural it looks the better.

A good trick is to use anchor text that includes
your "master" keyword but still diversifies by going
    long tail.

    Here's an example:
    - computer software(master)
    - computer software download(long tail)
    - pc computer software download(long tail)
    - computer software for windows(long tail)

They're all different but still optimize for your
    master keyword.

You should still create some links that ignore your
    master keyword though.

Not using software at this point, although I do have Magic Submitter.

Rather than blasting links everywhere, I want to find what works, at a minimum. I only want to try and focus on whats effective, and try (if possible) to avoid the "shotgun" approach.

    can't be overdone manually.

backlink only what you need ranked based on relevancy. (if you are ranking content then backlink to that, if you are ranking products then rank to that. if you are ranking a squeeze page then rank to that. if you are ranking your site, then backlin to that. backlink to whatever strategy is working for you right now, only make a change after split testing. basically if you have a plan, STICK TO IT.) choose one thing and do it. do it, do it, do it.

by doing it manually, it doesn't matter. this question only comes into play when you are using MEGA POWERFUL software and basically cramming the internet with "fake" links. manual links are natural. for instance, it would only take me about 2 hours to submit that plan in the video you saw. you can't do that manually. THAT is unnatural in google's eyes. so i had to spread it out over days and weeks.

before asking anyone, are you seeing results with what you are doing? if so, keep at it. only make changes after looking at your analytics and split testing.

it's a big deal and lots of hard work to change something. you lose everything you have done and have to start all over. i now because it did just that. have patience, do a little bit every day and it will grow. stick to your plan.
