Amazon + Adwords = money for this Christmass?

Hi all,

I was thinking...
since Christmass is near, to build a landingpage for expensive products such as LCD TVs, Game Consoles, etc (anything that is over $300)

and promote it using adwords, do you think it is profitable?

I dont want to wast too much on adwords, so I was thinking to target NY only, what are your thoughts?

    My last experience with using PPC / Adwords was back in 2006 or so, and given the extent to which things have changed since then, I think my knowledge would will be wholly outdated by now.

    However, if all the talk of Google's dislike for affiliate sites (at least where Adwords is concerned) and quality-scoring is anything to go by, I'd say you might have trouble getting/keeping your ads live (or at least profitable) if all you essentially have is a set of squeeze-pages promoting products via affiliate links and very little useful content.

    Hopefully you'll get a more in-depth response from someone who actually still engages in PPC/Adwords for affiliate marketing purposes. Good luck.

    My advice is not to do it unless you have a lot of experience with Adwords or know someone that does, but I'm sure you could make at least 4 figures between black friday and christmas.

    I had a play with adwords and amazon review sites and I couldn't get any approved. Google don't give you exact reasons for disapproval, but looking at their TOS, it mentions comparison websites linking to only one shopping service are not allowed. So filling a landing page with amazon affiliate links looks to be a no go
