You need to decide what type of marketing you want to do. Blog, Build you own product, affiliate, adsense, etc? Any ideas?

Hi there and welcome, you will find a lot of people being really helpful on this forum, but as you have already been told it is easier to answer your questions if you can be a bit more specific

Spend a day or so browsing through these threads - there are a lot here that outline basic business methods that you can use to make money even if you are new to the internet and IM. Then when you have some specific questions (and can't find the answers to them in any other thread) you can make a good post that heaps of warriors will jump on and help you with

    Good luck

To some extent, your methods may be slightly different if you already own a product to sell, and if so, what kind it is. There is a lot of information out there, and you can find a ton if it on this very forum.

The only problem you may have is there is just so much information, and it is so fragmented, it is often difficult to put it together in a manner that actually makes you money before you get frustrated and give up.

As has already been said, you will get a better response if you provide a bit more information. Do you have your own product? What niche? Are you interested in Affiliate Marketing (as a product owner or to sell other peoples' products)?

As you approach actually purchasing a program or course, be wary of anyone or any advertising that claims you can make a ton of cash overnight. While you can make money almost overnight, like by selling books on Amazon or other physical products you own on eBay, most people here are looking more for opportunities that can make money without having to warehouse physical products. You can still sell with these folks by participating via affilate marketing. Yes, you can do affiliate marketing with physical products.

However, most people think downloadable products when they think online marketing, and you will find far more information for these areas. You can also find a number of product offerings in the WSO section (Warrior Special Offers). You can often get some good deals there. However, even warriors can get carried away sometimes with the claims for the product they are selling. If in doubt, look for a product that has honest, easy to understand advertising copy. If the sales pitch doesn't tell you what you are buying, you may only be buying dreams. When you do decide to purchase a product to provide you the information you need to get from zero to a profit, I hope you consider my program.

      Scotsmann2,

I am pretty new here too, I joined in September and let me tell you since that time, having spent a lot of hours reading these forums, those questions and more will find answers.

From only ever having had a website out of a box a couple of years ago, for an offline business, I now use wordpress, Kompozer, use an FTP client (I really didn't know what this was a month ago), have a few domain names and a hosting service.

The pieces of the jigsaw are all here, you sometimes have to look externally (video tutorials on Youtube, Wordpress for Dummies) to get a little more detail, but take the time to read and put these pieces together and you'll be amazed at what you can do in very little time indeed.

Have I made any money yet? No.

But to be honest I'm that impressed with the things I've learned so far, that is success enough at this stage. Here's a little secret for you though, not many people fall into IM and make money within a week, despite what some may tell you.

Do some work on it every day, no matter what, and eventually you will start looking for the answers to much more juicy questions. That's what I have found anyway.

      Good Luck

      Z

This is a good place to start if you wanted to build a site or do some affiliate marketing. WordPress is very user friendly and has a ton of cool options. I now use WP for 99% of my projects and I highly recommend it.

Other ways for a newbie to get started is affiliate marketing, but all the steps for affiliate marketing can be duplicated using YOUR own products if you have them. Here are some things to research that will help you get started fast.
      1. Article Marketing
      2. Video Marketing
      3. Pay per click
These are probably the three most popular forms of affiliate marketing but I could also list another ten things you could do but I think these are the top three that a newbie should check out.

The important thing is to not get frustrated over not getting results overnight, sometimes it will take time to get the ball rolling. However, its like a snowball, once its starts rolling it will get bigger and bigger and bigger . . .

Pick a biz model to start with and learn all you can about it and implement it before trying a different tactic otherwise your ball will never get rolling fast enough to collect snow.

Yup. You can give out the details of the site you want to build to give you suggestions about the right solutions depending on the page you want to build. But in general, you can get Wordpress for your site since it has lots of plugins that you may find useful. Don't forget to get the paid one since it's better to set up a customized name on it.

Once you set it up, you can start doing other things like social media marketing, article marketing, and others.

If you're serious about this and really want to get started the proper way, I'd suggest using Wordpress for your sites. You won't go wrong using Hostgator as your hosting provider, and domain names can be bought from Godaddy or Namecheap.

If you're planning to use short videos on your site and/or in your product, then I'd recommend Jing Project. If you're going to be recording longer videos, Camstudio is free and works somewhat well.

I'd recommend creating short and snappy ebooks to start though. The key is to bring your first product to market quickly and then work on more advanced product creation strategies later, especially if you're new to all this.
