I brought my website/domain and set it up but its still not online.
Any advise? I got it all running Sunday, is something wrong or is it still in a "processing stage"

Have you pointed your website to your namesever? Have you even bought hosting?

Yeah I think you need to give some more information to know what the problem might be.

Did you set the nameservers to point to your hosting? That would be the first thing I'd check.

You need a domain name and a web host. Do you have both?

Further to that, you have to link them together, by configuring your domain name (via your domain registrar / the company you registered it with) with the DNS / name-servers provided by your host.

Upon doing that correctly, it can take anywhere from a few seconds or minutes, up to about 72 hours (though it's rare for it to take that long) for the domain to begin functioning. How long it takes depends on how often your ISP updates their DNS cache.

You can sometimes also speed up the process by clearing your own DNS cache, if the change has taken effect elsewhere, including at your ISP, and is only out-of-sync on your own PC. In such cases, you can clear your DNS cache by doing the following:

Under Windows (XP, Vista, 7), run Command Prompt and type: ipconfig /flushdns

It might be worth going back and doublechecking that the Nameservers are set correctly to the new settings.

I had a client who's second nameserver was wrong and her domain didn't resolve until this was corrected.

I usually have a fast resolution with the Namecheap and HG combo, so I would definitely check this out. ;-)

    Hi there Tom

to help you get indexed quickly consider doing a number of things:

    1. writing an article at a site where you can get it indexed quickly such as goarticles.com

    2. create a short video about your site and submit it to video sites like youtube.

    3. introduce your website to the world with a press release and submit it to a free press release site.

If you already have existing sites or blogs then I would recommending adding a temporary link from your existing blog to your new blog to help you get indexed.

If google sees an "authority site" linking back to your new site you'll get it indexed much faster.

    good luck

I agree with Tink, check your nameservers again. That happened to me just recently, my site didn't show up and I checked the nameservers and they looked ok to me, a day later my site still didn't show. I checked the nameservers again and they still looked ok, but I changed them again anyway (re-entered them) and then my site came live.

I'm not sure what happened, I was positive they were right, but I must have done something wrong. As soon as I re-entered the nameservers my site came live.
