50 hits Per Day = $5 Per Day & I Love It

Just crunched some numbers on a small diy based site I own.

It gets 50 ish hits a day through 3 articles I wrote in 2008 (although yesterday it got 97 hits this was a blip).

Anyway it is monetised using adsense and the CTR is very good averging 21%.

Long story short this site brings in a steady $5 every single day ... not my best earner. However I really love this one because I do nothing to maintain it at all, it really has been a case of set and forget.

my magic formula

1) Find niche keywords - I actually used Micronichefinder for this one. But now use a different approach. All keywords are based around exact match traffic counts.

2) Build a mini site - I wrote content of 500 words minimum per page.

3) Article Marketing - I wrote articles for each of the pages created. However 3 in particular are driving most of the traffic.

That's it ... took me less than 3 to 4 hours work total and is making me a nice little amount each month.

Congrats! It's always nice when you get paid long term for some work you did way back when. Even if it's a little bit here and there the money all ads up for the work done in few hours or even a few days. You've got to love Internet Marketing.

Congrats! That's one of my favorite perks of article marketing... you never know when your articles are going to give you traffic/sales/rewards. Just yesterday, I noticed a chunk of traffic that came in from an article I wrote back in May. Hadn't promoted it lately, hadn't even *thought* of it lately, and there is was, sending me traffic

    Keep up the good work!

When you think about it $5 a day is amazing for the work you put in a long time ago. Like Nicole said "that is one of my favorite perks of article marketing." Yesterday I checked and I had about a dozen articles pulling in consistent traffic that I wrote over a year ago.

Note to newbies... NOBODY makes serious money with Adsense.... NOBODY, unless you get over 1 million hits per day... then you might make decent money.

One Affiliate sale lets say on Clickbank can make you more then 5 months of Adsense earnings.

Google is SO Eff'in greedy when it comes to the split.
Some of my clicks get .02 for an image ad. Ridiculous.

I steer clear of adsense.. its not a real way to make money... but i understand that newbie are so drawn to it because the idea is so cool.. do nothing, make some money.

You probably should have targeted niches that historically have keyword phrases with higher CPC values. I can't remember the last time I got a click for less than $0.25. Most of my clicks are in the $1-$2 range. I target niches like "insurance".

I can understand your frustation. It would take you approximately 250 clicks at 2 cents each to make five bucks a day. It takes me just 3-5 clicks to get there.

      "O.V.E.R" for you, maybe.

+1 for having the guts to make ignorantly presumptuous blanket statements about the viability of a whole "business model", just because you've obviously failed to make much money with it yourself.

I sure hope others' who make a living (or at least a significant portion of it) from AdSense don't see this. Perhaps we're all suffering from an hallucinatory mental disorder of some sort.

(You don't need anywhere near 1 miillion hits per day to make what many would regard as a decent full-time living. Did you just pull that number out of thin air or what?).

A suggestion, by the way: try using text ads exclusively (if any are relevant for your site(s)). Image ads are notorious, I think, for attracting a lower CTR in a lot of cases, and lower CPCs to go with them. That's nearly always been the case when I've tested them, anyway. I use text ads exclusively.

Article marketing is one of those fundamental truths that no one seems to talk about, however all the gurus are using this tactic. That's right... the basic marketing principles still work today, but with all of the Big $37 software launches and must join to succeed membership sites people tend to get sidetracked and forget about the simple things.

I have wandered away from Ezinearticles recently but this just reminds me how powerful it is, I mean $5 a day isn't much but when you multiply it by how many sites you have then it can really start to add up....

Got my monthly report from Ezinearticles and had a quick look, one crappy article I submitted in 2008 got just under 1400 views in October but it has a clickthrough of 61% so that means that one little article drove well over 700 visitors to one of my affiliate sites last month......time to start submitting to them again me thinks!!

Here is the joke part ... I am so untechnical that until last week I never owned one single blog.

My first blog was started after I bought the Deadbeat Super Affiliate Package. The only reason I started one is because I want to expand my skills and knowledge and due to the success of all my sites have time to do the WP learning curve and get myself a bit more savvy.

At this point all my sites are done in XsitePro ... moving forward I will only use this for mini-sales sites.

Personally I would make the blog posts a minimum of 500 words and then write related keyword rich articles in order to generate traffic.

How many visitors per day do you need to make around $1 per day from Adsense from one site?

Recently, i added my site www.myhealthcolumn.com to Add to Google in the SEO section in HostGator, before doing this the site was only getting around 20 visitors per day but i checked the stats today and the site had 197 visitors yesterday. Problem is, i haven't had even one Adsense click yet.

Do you think the Adsense banner is just to un-noticable?

Can't really answer that. It depends on the CPCs, relevance of the ads, and of course your site design.

Your site is quite "cluttered", though. Not in a bad way, but in a way that doesn't help in drawing attention to your AdSense ads specifically.

Have a play around with colour schemes and placements. You'll get some clicks eventually, but with that many distractions on a page I think you'll need a helluva lot of traffic to make anything too signifcant, since you're never going to have a particularly huge CTR.

Wow really interesting income, did you do any backlinking on that site other than articles?
I have started backlinking on other sites. However I have not done any backlinking at all on this site.

All my traffic is driven by my Articles. Written well you can get a ton of traffic.

Anyone have tips for improving CTR? I get a good 300/day per site with absolutely no clicks, nearly all the traffic is from search engines. Whats going on? I have one ad under the article title, one in the margin, and one at the end.

Similar problem here. I get almost 200 visitors a day at www.myhealthcolumn.com but no clicks at all. It's only been a few days since i started getting that many visitors though.

Maybe i should remove all the ClickBank and CPA banners on the right and replace them with Adsense to see what happens.

Have you tried the Adsminded WP theme.

Ads Minded uses a high CTR AdSense layout created by me which I named it QuickSenseTM (sounds similar to quicksand).

I can’t disclose the CTR here as doing so is violating AdSense TOS, but I can tell you QuickSenseTM has the highest CTR for all my advertisement placements.
Ive put it on this site, www.free-offers231.net as you can see.

Nice one, it's always great to find the formula, rinse and repeat, but to get to that formula can take months of tweaking, again well done

nice job. always nice to look back at something you did back when, and realize that it was worth doing.
