Buying keyword related name with little history, searches

Should you buy domain name based on a keyword that you know will be searched 1000s of time (like 10,000 a month) within 1-2 months, but right now barely anyone knows the keyword?

Also, can someone tell us from experience if they ever done that and their results please?

I'd buy it now and make sure it was ranked number 1 when the searches start. That way you're in a position to take advantage of all the traffic when it does start coming. I haven't done it myself but if I knew of one that was going to get a big boost in traffic I'd start working on it now.

Just to inform others that I will be buying the domain solely to sell it later on and not for long time commitment.

Having a domain name based on a popular keyword is always beneficial but only a decent keyword domain is not the only thing to get the desired results you have to put real contents on you site.

Heavily searched keyword based domain is like icing on a sweet cake but the actual cake is the real contents and other marketing strategies.

You get your site ranked with backlinks and content...so buying a domain name with decent search volume is not going to do much. If you don't have any backlinks, or decent content...your domain is useless really..

I would buy it and start working on the site as a whole. Even if you plan on selling it in the short term, it would fetch a much better price if it is developed, rather than just a domain.
