WHERE DO I START

Hi all

I am hoping that u guys may be able to throw a few goods ideas for me to keeping in mind that i am a newbie and just want to investigate and start a small thing as i currently work 45-50 hours a week at my job so i dont get a huge amount of time. i just dont know where to start


But any help, ideas or proposals would be much appreciated.

    Since you've just got into the Internet Marketing game and work a full time job, I would highly recommend you dive into Affiliate Marketing.

    The reason is simply because you can make a suplementary or even a main income from affiliate marketing without having your own website, your own product, your own list, etc. All by just working on it part-time.

    You see, affiliate marketing is basically you promoting a merchants website and they give you commission on the sales you generate or the click throughs you send.

    There are a number of methods that you can use to make money from affiliate marketing both on and offline.

    Some methods include using your own website, a merchant's website if you don't have one, mailing lists you have built up, ebooks, blogs, video blogs, forums, PPC advertising, local media advertising, and custom software.

    And so, I suggest you try out affiliate marketing, because it can be highly lucrative for you, you won't have to create your own product, and can be quite fun as well.

      i have had a bit of a look at affiliate marketing but it all sems like you need to pay for extra things and if you do buy these u still only get a minium amount of traffic have you used affiliate mrketing and how did it go for you

        And by extra things you mean...hosting, domain names, or what?

        This is not true. The amount of traffic you get depends on a lot of things. There are a number of traffic generating techniques out there that bring in a ton of traffic and qualified leads to your website.

        I have used affiliate marketing and made some good money with it by following a few successful mentors. But, you can only see if it works if you try it out for yourself.

        Let's start at the beginning... a very good place to start

        Not to be cute or anything, but we all really have to start at the beginning. So, first thing to do, for me, is to ask myself...

        What would I like to do?

        You said you "want to investigate and start a small thing."

        What do you know/like/want to learn that you can incorporate online? Start there. Then move on to how to make it happen. As you investigate, you'll find many things that can be done online (the "what") and you'll learn the steps to take to make it happen (the "how").

        It is super important that you take action, but you can't take action until you know what to take action on. Learn now, act as you are able, given your time constraints.

          Don't buy anything... yet. Read read read read.

          By going online, and wanting to make money, you are basically gong into business.

          First rule of business is building a list. This is also the first rule of sales.

          Build a database.

          You can have the best product in the world... the best sales copy in the world... the best most amazing keywords in the world, and it all means nothing if you have no one to sell it to.

          everyone on here is looking for ways to improve thier traffic, and then they are looking to improve their conversions. ummmm. with a list, immediate traffic worries are solved when you launch a new site, or find a new hot product. conversions well.... you just build your lists differently.

          If I were to start from scratch, I would just build a list. A list will get you everything you need, joint venture partners, affiliate money.... the "list" (pardon the pun) is endless.

          but, this is just my opinion. whatever that's worth....

            Well just start now, nothing comes overnight you have to put all you efforts to achieve you goal.

            Initially every one faces tough time, but gradually and working harder give the desired results.

            First of all you need to prioritize things which you would like to do in Internet Marketing, this will help a lot.

            What I mean by prioritizing is that list down your Internet Marketing activities and then act according to your list.

            One basic and most important thing before actually stating any kind of Internet Marketing is to read a lot from Internet. We don't give time on reading on Internet that will result in lack of knowledge of that area which you are focusing. Believe me reading others experiences will give you a great understating about your niche.

    I guess my issues are it is hard for me to part with money especially if i am not sure if the returns or the actuall thing will work i cant say ahve come across and program or product that i believe in enought to sell.

    Maybe i am not looking hard enough or i need to be less picky and have a go i am interested in building a Website for the pure exercise of generating traffic and practice different methods to see what works ut i dont think i know of anything enough to have people interested i my website.

    Keep focused by doing a little toward your goal every day.

    Work on bringing customers to your offer (traffic).

    Set up a blog or website or opt-in page. Building a list is very important. And profitable.

    At first don't spend money for traffic. Use articles, forum and blog comments to help bring in visitors to your site.

    You have to spend time on your marketing efforts to profit. Good luck.

    You are new to this industry and internet marketing is a very diverse field
    You start SEO in the following way
    1) Posting in forums
    2) Commenting on blogs
    3) Article Submission
    4) Social Media Marketing
    5) Press release
    6) Directory Submission

    I hope that if u start work on these lines you will get more backlinks and it will flourish your business.

    Actually, I would tend to disagree a little - about the "not buying anything yet" thingy... IF I had a chance to start over again, I will likely buy one of the "beginner" programs and stuck with it... after 3 years, I would have made it... as it is, I spent all the time reading, exploring, trying, hopping from one to another... you all know the story... Not having a mentor/guide played a huge part in getting lost...

      I'm going to agree with you.

      After posting that, I remembered buying into a program. i got nothing out of it financially, BUT it taught me alot. I said that because i spent a lot of months with NO FOCUS.

      I did everything, all over the place. It did give me an inkling into what this IM world was about though and helped me to find my "like".

      I should say to be very selective of what you spend money on though, because it is easy to go overboard with it. I started with a budget, and stuck to it. so when I saw an offer, I did tons of research before I would jump in.

      I would have to agree with most and say affiliate marketing. If you have some special skills you could do some freelance work for people online. Search the forum for " how to make money as a freelancer" and see what you get!

        Hi Mr platapus!
        I would recommend you start learning with the many free guides you can find online about "internet marketing"..."how to make money on the internet" and something similar....or also going on youtube and type "how to make money on the internet" or something similar...or i think one of the best way to make money online without spending money is affiliate marketing in which you sell other people products and you could learn about it!

    Hi, I always tell newcomers - you need a mentor- someone to take you by the hand and show you the process. If you don't have a mentor it will take you a long time and you might even give up. So get a mentor to help you. This forum is good and you can learn somethings as well. Check out the links below for some help.
