My Love Hate relationship with IM

I would like to know what it is you love about IM and also what you really dont like about IM.

LIKES...
For me i like to teach at least what I know, IM gives me a platform to do that. It really gives every one a voice, i really like that.

IM gives me freedom. I can move to Siberia and still be in business.

I have access to really talented people like here on this forum which is great by the way.

There's some really cool stuff like you get to learn how to write copy, how to communicate, how search engines work cool stuff like that.

but in the other hand I hate absolutely hate backlinking, and the Google sandbox, I hate lonely sites you know for 3 months and no traffic, I really don't like it that IM can and does change rather rapidly.

Last but certainly not the least i really do have a hard time explaining what I do to folks or the girl you just met at the bar...sometimes its really tricky.

That's just me folks do share ur love hate affair with IM I am sure i will learn from it and ope u got sumtin from this.

Yeah I know what you mean. I've always only earned enough "just to get by" yet I know almost everything else everyone else does. I don't get it. I guess some people just aren't natural born salespeople. That's my only guess.

Its great that you have earned a whole lot haven't. what did learn about sales is to do it like i were selling to someone i really cared about that has really helped me.

I never sell, I provide people with solutions. I treat it like I was having a conversation with an acquaintance in a bar (not a close friend) and they tell me about a problem they have... I then give them the solution.

The only reason I do it this way is I hate selling and it's something I can't do effectively if I try to sell

Well, I love the freedom that IM gives you, and how easily you can make money from the comfort of your own home (or anywhere you choose) without having to meet anyone or go anywhere. I also love the fact that it is quite easily scalable with the availability of outsourcing and tools that help reduce your workload.

There are some tasks in IM which can be tedious and annoying/frustrating, and this can be anything from backlinking to writing content to getting the plugins or a site's appearance tweaked just right. I'm slowly starting to learn that there are some parts of your IM business that you absolutely need to outsource in order to grow, and I need to fully embrace that fact.

There's no getting around the fact that IM does take up a lot of your time especially when you're doing most of the tasks yourself, and you may find yourself a hermit and at a loss to explain to your friends what it is that you actually do, but you learn to cope with that over time.

That is the life of an IM. It's full of cyber drama. It's full of ups and downs. It's not always sunshine on the Internet Marketing World. Just learn to live by the standards and surely you'll get the daily dose of success that you've been looking for.

ahh I like the sound of that. "daily dose of success. Funny when I set out to learn IM i never bargained for all the extra skills i'd learn along the line. If I had known I would have skipped college and used that four years to build my online business. dats just me tho.

I love the ability that you get to help people however I really hate the fact that sometimes it is difficult to just sit down and get through the motions needed to complete tasks.

However, it's something that has given another perspective on life, so that's always a positive point.

True Murali I guess you can't have ur cake and eat it too. I am looking to begin outsourcing a whole lot but first let the dollars start rolling in.
