How Do You Track Your Numbers for Accounting?

I do a full income online and I've always done my own numbers at the end of the year.

But now my accountant wants to do my numbers each month for a ton of money.

I think hes just trying to ding me with another charge.

What is teh best way to do it from home?

I'd prefer something that connects to bank via the intenret, such as Mint.com

Does Quicken do similar things?

I think Mint is great. It doesn't take long to learn and then it is easy to do reports, etc at the end of the year.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

My wife uses Quicken and balances each month then sends it off to our acct. It saves us a ton of money and is easy to learn.

    Mint is actually pretty good.
But it really depends where you are from...
For example here in Germany (where our business is operating from right now) it's no use doing the numbers by yourself or the financial department will be on your ass quicker than you can say "I've paid my taxes". A financial advisor is pretty much the only way to go over here. Fortunately they all operate on a flatrate basis...
