Where can I sell my domains fast, and with no out-of-pocket costs?

I have some domains lying around, and as of late, have made the decision not to develop them. Though, I originally acquired them with the intention of building an online business around each, my current circumstance leads me in another direction.

I'm sure there's a buyer's market for the domains, as they are relevant to several different services that are offered by various marketers online. In addition, I personally find each domain to be quite catchy, and thus, easy to brand. What would be the best way to go about selling them?

I know there are forums specifically geared toward "domaining" and such, but I'm thinking that I might have better success by targeting specific crowds that might have an immediate interest in these particular domains. Do you think that contacting different online companies by email, or perhaps by live chat, would be smart?

I want to get these domains sold ASAP, and while I'm not looking for piles of cash, I'd like some decent amount of profit. Plus, it would help me to put some other plans into play. Any advice or input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Warriors!

I'd thought about the Warrior Forum, but aren't I required to post a WSO to sell domains? I know it's been done as I've seen a few threads where it occurred, but it's been a while and I don't quite remember all the details. Also, I thought SitePoint had become Flippa which requires a listing fee?

Sedo, NP, DNF, Bido, AfterNic, etc. - These are DN forums and DN auction sites. DN or Site flipping is not as easy as people think, there's some important standards that needs to be researched before making any offer.

Yes, I understand that selling domains is somewhat involved, but like I said, I'm just looking to make quick cash. I don't want to do this as a regular income generator. And, please, could someone clarify the selling process on the Warrior Forum. I know I can use my signature, but can I start a thread specifically offering the domains for sale?

Ebay. You don't have to pay until the auction is over.

I Advise ebay as well.. Most domainers (myself included) look for generic domains IE; car, money, etc. Sometimes with IM and there domains they may be good for a product release but as a domin byitself has no appeal to domainers so yor best bet more then likely is ebay. Think of it this way, if you have NEVER got a offer for the domain before more then likley domainers will not like it either. Just my 2 cents

I suppose it would be wise to list the domains in my signature here to start, and I'll also check out the resources suggested thus far.

Do you think it would be wise to send a short email to those website owners who are already offering the types of services related to the domains? Has anyone had success with this method of selling domains?

Just a thought here, and I wouldn't have a clue if anyone has made an offer on the domains (I haven't bothered to check the registration email in months).

Digital point forums is the best place. I've never failed to sell a domain yet and I've sold probably 50+

I sell at DP, Wicked, and NamePros, with some minor volume on eBay. I also do a good bit of end-user sales, but this requires real work in prospecting for buyers.

If you want to look for some possibly interested buyers for domains, especially if your domains are more brandable than generic, check out NameBio.com's sales records, run some keywords through the search facility there to show you some recent sales of similar or related domains. WHOIS the buyers and go from there.

KG, I think you'd have much better luck emailing related website owners who'd have a need for your domains. By going after the end buyers (the people who will ultimately use the domain) instead of the middlemen (domainers), you're probably going to get higher prices for your domains as well.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll give that a shot! I'm not sure how this will pan out, but hopefully things will turn out well. I have no clue how to approach these "end-users," but, there's no harm in trying.

Well, none of the domains are developed, but, I'm sure that for the right person/people they will be great assets to have. I've come up with a ton of ideas and even had sites previously designed for both, but I just have too much on my plate right now to worry about what I could or might do.

I'll make it short and to the point:
    1. No matter where you go , you've to pay a Fee to sell your domain.
    2. Might sound "Catchy" to you but the buyer determines that.
Domains price is good as what the buyer's "need" will make him pay.
    3. Knocking doors offering your domain will get you almost nothing in your pocket.
    4. If you want to sell your domain fast don't expect a good price unless you've a Premium domain.
    5. If you go to where the domainers hang around, I don't think you're ready to deal with them. You do need some experience to go there.
    6. eBay maybe a decent place to buy a domain but, awful to sale. eBayers got in mine they can buy a fantastic domain for $30.00.
Unless you really Need the money, don't sell the domains. Hold them
until you learn or get more info. You'll get much better deal out of it.
Last but not least: Domains require time, Work, yes Work, thinking out of the box and most important learning how to say NO to an offer.
Believe it or not that word will make very good money.
All of the above mentioned is my very own experience.
You may not agree with it and/or could not get the same results.
But, I hope, I gave you some guidance.

Not to be contentious, but if you hang about NamePros, DNF and other domaining venues, you will notice that many people in that business have switched from listing domains at AfterNIC/SEDO/etc. to doing end user sales. I've sold many domains that were rejected by major auction houses, fell flat at Bido, and couldn't get a bid from the "domainer" market, to end users who were happy to get them.

You might not be contentious, but sending a person to "NamePros, DNF" without some knowledge will be like sending him to the slaughter house.
My answer was to someone in need to gain some domaining experience before trying to sale his domains.
