I'd thought I'd start a thread where we can share our best internet marketing strategies.
I'll start us off.
My Best Internet Marketing Strategies
My best online marketing strategy so far has been article marketing. I'll show you step-by-step how I go about this process (assuming you already have something to promote):
Step 1: Do keyword research. Simple. Go to google's keyword tool (or wordtracker, whatever you prefer, and make a list of long tail keywords that have more than 300 monthly searches.

Next, I'd plug those keywords into google (no quotes) and I look for the following:
Step 2: Create content.
This content can be an article, a video, or whatever. It should be useful, and it should provide the information the searcher is looking for. It should also be well optimized for your target keyword (title, url, H1 tags, etc.) If you come across a really good keyword, consider getting the .com exact keyword domain name. That will help a lot with ranking highly.
Step 3: Link building.
Choose your weapon. This can be profile backlinks, web 2.0 wheels, social bookmarks, or whatever floats your boat. Ideally, your content is hosted on a authority site (like youtube), and has some authority backlinks pointing back to it.
REMEMBER THIS: A backlink is worthless if it isn't indexed by Google (for SEO purposes anyway). Make sure that backlink is indexed. You can do this by pinging your backlink, and submitting comments on websites that are frequently crawled by google (like forums and so on).
Step 4: Rinse and repeat.
Not hard really. Just do this entire process once a day, for 30 days, and see if you can't build up a residual income stream.

- Web 2.0 properties on first or second page. This is a good indication that the competition is low, and you can rank high with free web properties like ezinearticles and squidoo.
- First 3 results have a page rank of 2 or less.
- Top results are not exactly optimized for keyword (not in title, not in url).
