Can you really make money?

First of all Im new. A rookie. Never even thought about making money online until a couple weeks ago. I have joined the forum and have been lurking, reading as many posts and soaking up as much information as possible. Even though I dont understand some of what you are writing, I am picking up a little here and there.

I have seen many of the WSO's and WOW!! some of them sound very convincing. They sound like with some hard work you could be making money in no time at all.

So my question is this, I also see some Warrior members that have been members for quite some time with anywhere from 50 posts up to 400-500 making posts that say how broke they are and can barely scrape up the $50 or $100 to buy one of the WSO's. So it makes me wonder if it is as easy as these Special Offers make it sound, how can people hang around here, read all this information and not be making money? Is it really that simple to figure out a niche, get a domain, build a website, add some backlinks and your in business?

I know I am new and I dont want to offend anyone, I am not afraid of hard work and laying out some seed money, I just want to know if this is a worthy investment of my time and money?

Any method you choose will require some pure old-fashion sweat equity. Hard work is a given....

The variety of WSOs are simply a representation of all the many methods out there to earn. Before purchasing, however, do your research, ask questions of the buyer, and look for social proof of customer successes/earnings.

Also, while this isn't true in all cases, many people online earn their livings by selling people products about how to earn a living. They may or may not actually earn what they claim.

    Hey Mack,
Its very possible to make money online, When i started out i had no clue what i was doing. My first website was actually a Yahoo store that sold flat screens and we did 70K the first month in profit. Since then we have built a fairly large company with 12 US based employees and 130 Offshore workers. We now build internet properties for other investors and provide the SEO and Marketing support to make the investment really pay off for our Investors. The key is to find a niche, become the expert, and invest money in backlinks, Content and a great looking website. It may take a while but keep your chin up and hang in there. There is a lot to learn in Internet Marketing but with dedication it will come. I wish you the best of luck!

        You have some good questions.

I would caution you, however, not to fall in a trap of judging whether people can make money on the internet simply by the number of posts they have made or the amount of time they've been members. Jenn Dize alluded to this earlier. Those who have made "400-500" posts or "been members for quite some time" haven't necessarily put into the business what it takes to succeed. Maybe some of them don't really want to.

People post for a variety of reasons.

        There are warriors who:

        1. Post almost never but make lots of money
        2. Post a lot and make lots of money
        3. Post a little and make a little money
        4. Post a lot and make a little money

        ...or anything in between.

And any of these warriors might or might not be making any money.

Some are too busy making a living to post a whole lot. Others post a lot in order to help others. Some post to socialize more than anything else. There are as many reasons for posting (and being members of this forum) as there are people who are members.

I knew of a guy in another forum who had thousands of posts. He stated on more than one occasion that he really did not make anything on his website because he spent most of his time in the forum helping others.

In a nutshell: don't judge the possibility of making money by how long people in this forum have been members or how many posts they have. It's a non sequitur. Judge the possibility by whether members actually make any money.

Making money online is definitely possible. It's possible for me. I do the work. It is also possible for you if you do the work.

It's not enough to want it... you have to want it enough.

This is going to seem like a flip answer, but it is the truth...

I can make money online, but we don't know if you can...

The fact is that people can make money online if they do the things they need to do to be successful... But most people won't... Because it is too much work...

It took me about a year before I'd made enough mistakes to know what I really needed to be doing. The best advice I can give you is not to start with overpriced guru programs. Find a mentor who is more advanced than you are in your field of interest and become a student...that's what did it for me.

You have started your new career out in the right place. I wish I would of found WF when I first started. It would have saved me alot of time and money. I wasted alot of effort on MLM before I found the forum.

There is alot of information here at the forum. Take your time and digest everything you learn. Do not jump and buy everything you see. My advice is to pick one avenue and make it work. You have alot of options when it comes to making money online.

Whether it is CPA, Freelancing, Product creation. Just pick something that interest you and devote your time and efforts.

IF you work hard and keep on track you will succeed. Once again good luck and welcome to Warrior Forum.

Internet Marketing is a lot like Baseball. Babe Ruth had a lifetime batting average of .342, and he is a legend.

.342 means he did NOT succeed about 65 times out of 100.

If you can fail 6 times out of 10 and duplicate the 4 successes, you'll do fine.

FYI most get 2 or 3 failures and, right before they "statistically" get the hit, they quit.

The question is, "Will you be in the 95% who quit, or the 5% who stick it out"?

Find one someone online who has a program you can relate to, follow the advice, and see what happens. Don't chase every new product. Don;t be an 'opportunity seeker" be a business builder.

This is a business, treat it as such.

You'll never know unless you try.

Thank you for the responses. I dont really know what kind of "magic" answer I am looking for.

I have other offline businesses that I operate and my time is valuable to me. Like everybody else, I assume. My other 2 businesses are service related with employees, alot of overhead and seasonal fluctuations.

For those reasons the ability to make an income sitting in front of my computer, AT HOME is very fascinating to me.

Yesterday I ordered a book (I like to read books) authored by Scott Fox- "Internet Riches". I thought it might give me somewhere to begin. Do you have any other suggestions on where to start my knowledge building adventure? Other than the Warrior Forum of course!! haha

There are an incredible number of REAL ways to make money online. The sad fact of it is that most people do not put in the work. There are certainly some fancy sales letters that make huge promises and don't deliver -- but it's often the case that people give up because another, more enticing, prospect comes along.

Just because people have a high post count does not mean they've ever put any effort into their marketing So, don't get discouraged by that.

Look to the people who are making a good living online -- there are a LOT of successful people in this forum.

In short, YES, you really can make money online.

    Hey Mack,

Welcome to the Forum. You've come to the right place to start your journey in IM. There is so much info on the forum that you'll probably become overwhelmed on how to start. I would get a feel for some of the methods that some members use to make money online. Pick a method or two that you might enjoy working on. It does take time, hard work and patience. Most of all ASK QUESTIONS!!! or use the search function on the forum to help you out.

The truth is finding a system and the type of marketing you want to do.

There is affiliate marketing, where you sell products (Amazon, Clickbank, Overstock) and get a commission.

There is CPA (Cost Per Action) 1.50 to 40.00 per action either an email submission or an actual purchase.

There is creating blogs that earn adsense and commissions through Autoblogging, using PLR or WPRobot.

Kevin Riley has a whole line of product creation ebooks. He helped me get my sales page online, which is still making money selling my ebook.

It's not the hard work, it's knowing what to do, and so many products leave little things out. It's easy to say, "Yes you can earn money if you work hard" But work hard at what? Building websites? writing content? Writing articles? building backlinks? Understanding SEO and how to stay in good favor with Google? And Last BUT Least... Keyword research and understanding your competition!

That's what it takes. If I compare my affiliate earnings with my own product earnings, I go with my own product creation and development.

Honestly, with your offline business experience, I'm sure you have something to write about that people would pay money to know. Make it a clickbank product and support your affiliates in letting them promote it for you.

    Hope this helps...

    Karen

Like many have said allready in this thread, it IS possible. You just need to find a system that works for you and stick to it. Dont let yourself get sidetracked by the latest shiny offering, and you will be fine I only just started a couple months ago myself and have seen some return for my work. So it IS possible.

Again, thank you for the responses. But one thing that bugs me is that literally a few minutes ago i saw a fellow warrior giving advice to somebody about how to make money, now yesterday I saw that same warrior saying that he had to wait until fridays paycheck to buy a WSO?

Really makes me wonder who is speaking from experience and who is just blowing smoke about actually having experience making money on the internet?

Wish we had a lie detector here on the forum!! haha
