What's the Best Videohosting Option?

Hi, I am using youtube to host all the videos that i make to give away for free but I was thinking about using something else for the optin video on my homepage so that it fits into the website neatly, as well as for the videos i used in the sales sequence AFTER the optin.

I wouldn't want those to be publicaly available. currently i have them on youtube but i've made them private/unlisted but i feel like there's a better solution that has a minimalist look and allows you to customize the player.

What is the best or most cost-effective option, in your opinion?

I've heard people recommend amazon and others who pay for the premium membership at vimeo/viddler etc. What are the advantages/disadvantages?

why would you refuse all the free traffic from youtube by making your videos private?

    Hi Kevin

Can't go too far wrong with Amazon s3.

Plus you can always use both Amazon for your private ones and Youtube plus the other sharing sites for the public ones.

I would highly recommend that you at least consider posting excerpts of your pay videos and a few free ones on YouTube even if you are going to go with amazon. That way you can at least show your value to the customer and drive traffic, like lacraiger mentioned above. No reason to give up all those potential YouTube hits.

Sign up for Amazon Cloudfront to host your videos so that they load fast in other countries.

Use Bucket Explorer or S3 Browser to upload your videos to Amazon.

Modify your CN Name in your control panel so that the video seems to be streaming from your webhost and not Amazon.

Use JW Player to play the videos on your website.

I use Amazon S3 for the serious stuff and wouldn't consider another option.. fantastic service, fast servers, as much space as you need and the price is just stupidly low.

Amazon Web services with no doubt.

Upload your videos to AS3, and stream it with CloudFront, you'll end up paying pennies and delivering an outstanding service for your visitors/customers.
