What Software Can't You Do Without (Free or Paid)?

Hi All

This software has saved me hundreds of hours. Probably like most people on this forum I watch loads of online video. I use this software to speed up my videos by up to 3X as fast, without losing quality of sound.

I can get through a 1 hour video in 20 minutes. It's not free but costs roughly $30 to view online flash videos and about $90 for the offline version. I don't want to put a link in here but if you go to enounce.com check it out.

It's especially good for those annoying sales videos without fast forward on them!

Anyone else have a must have tool or software they want to share?

I'm pretty sure I saw you post something similar in another thread. Seriously man....you need to stop!

If you cant afford it then use the free tools out there that are available until you save enough money to buy it but asking others to buy it for you or give you their product key is just sad...not to mention illegal (giving you their key).

I would imagine once a mod sees your posts like that you will get banned...and should!

From my (idiosyncratic) perspective as a technophobic incompetent, these threads are "all the same" in that they rapidly fill up with lists of software almost none of which I've ever seen and much of which I've never even heard of.

I do find Firefox and Aweber very useful, and if I didn't have them available I'd need substitutes/replacements for them, I freely acknowledge.

But it's really lucky for people like me that "ability to use software" is so terribly low on the list of attributes that correlate with developing and running a successful internet marketing business.

Have you heard of the NoteTab Light one? It's a NotePad-style software that works much, much better than NotePad. It's hardly much of a software in the learning curve - in fact, there is none

And VLC media player... well, it's just a lot better than Windows Media Player.

    Hey Alexa

While I agree with you somewhat, I'd say that most successful marketers have technical skills, whether that be HTML, Wordpress or whatever.

From my own experience of working with over 6,500 marketers, those that can't grasp the technical basics struggle to get off the ground.

    Cheers,

I hear you, Neil. People like me have to have "coping mechanisms" and be flexible, to develop non-technical ways of doing things. And perhaps be more willing to outsource than other people are (which I also don't like because I lose some control that way ).

HTML is "too distant" a prospect for me, and I can definitely (easily) live without understanding or touching it. Sometimes by paying something. I'm having another go (on the quiet - albeit a little less quiet now!) with Wordpress, to be honest. Not because I think I really need it, but because it really would be a "personal triumph" for me to be able to use it.

An autoresponder was the one I couldn't avoid. No way round that, really, one way or another. I assume even self-hosted ones have a learning-curve?

You'd be suprised at what you are capable of learning or doing, if you really have desire and the right mental mindset.

Being positive is one mental attitude that really helps ALL people excel at things, even if they have no natural abilities.

On the other hand a negative outlook, confession, attitude or belief about one's own abilities will ALWAYS limit growth and progress.

Can't live without many iPhone apps such as:

GoDaddy- a quick search to see if a domain is available

Yelp, Facebook, and Twitter- to manage client marketing
    Chase Bank

Other software I use on a daily bases is
Squaredup.com- I can accept credit cards and credit card authorizations with my iPhone and a dongle instead of invoicing.

Keyword Ninja- dynamite keyword analysis software
SugarCRM- so I always know how my contractors and clients are interacting and when

I'm in Linux so I use PyRoom and it has been fantastic for getting focused writing done.

I'd like to add Article Marketing Robot.

I think it's the only article marketing tool that is at a once-off cost.

Things like SEOLinkVine and Unique Article Wizard are monthly costs and I believe they do the same thing (just with different directories)

market sumari, as I am the bum of all bum marketers. LOL.

Keywords are important to any niche, any business. Most the newbie marketers out there do not realise this.

  • I can't go without the web based software such as Google AdWords Keyword Sugesstion Tool and most of all...sites that use web based software such as NeedAnArticle, Fiverr, and Freelancer. Simply because I have found that when it comes writing about certain topics in different niches and staying focused on the main point of my content that I really, really SUCK! So without the web based software sites like these run on, I would be complete hopeless.

Weird that the top 5 are all paid for apart from firefox. Obviously some serious marketers here on the warrior forum!

    Gunna have to say Camtasia.

Camtasia and email autoresponders have been my big winners this year. I.e. bring in the most amount of sales. Video is still working quite well and I do not expect that to change over the next several years.

So chalk up another for me for camtasia.

It's tough not to notice all of the love for Market Samurai on here. I'm new to the IM world, is it really a big advantage over using the free google keyword tool? Can anyone enlighten me on the major differences or is it just more accurate?

      Thanks!!

There is only 1 piece of software I can't do without. FIREFOX!!! As a multi-OS user, I enjoy being able to use the same browser and the same add-ons on any computer I use. Honestly, the only other software I currently use for my marketing strategies is OpenOffice due to it's ability to create PDF files without downloading anything extra. Of course, I sometimes find myself using GoogleDocs or MS-Word when I don't have OpenOffice available. (Rarely)

I am a little interested why you would want to speed through an hour's video in 20 minutes, don't you lose the gist of the video?

Funnily enough you don't. What it does is forces you to concentrate more, and also if someone is a slow speaker, or they have a long story (think video sales letter with no fast forward controls) you can quickly get through all the rubbish. I'm generally quite amazed at how much you can learn - I usually don't go up to 3X though unless they're a very slow speaker. I usually stick to about 2X.

One thing it's not good for though is Youtube videos as I've found they have very bad streaming.
