Hi there. Ok so I want to start building a product site using an exact keyword in the domain. After staying up last night writing a couple articles for Associated Content, I thought it would be easy to research a keyword for a domain. I went on ebay pulse (someone recommended I do this here) and I saw some things in the top ten, but no long tails...can someone tell me what next steps I would take to drill down to the long tails....and does it usually take you guys hours to research? It was taking me a good couple of hours last night and I didn't really get anywhere

well....I found one keyword perhaps it was motherboard cpu combo. Is that a good one? but it seemed that the domain was taken. What do you guys think? Can someone help me with the steps?

Also what are other ways to see what people are searching for besides using Ebay pulse?

If you want to find good keywords first go to Google Keyword Tool, which I am sure you have already used (if not Google it - it is the Google Adword Keyword Tool).

Type in the words associated with your product

Let Google find 100 associated keywords for you to use as possible domain names - copy that list and then go to GoDaddy and copy that list into the bulk domain feature - GoDaddy will filter out the ones that already have dot coms taken and leaves you with a list of possible dot coms related to your product.

If you want to use ebay pulse, or google trends to find hot products or niches, then focus your search on "buying keywords" rather than celebrity trends etc.

Hope this helps and good luck
    Lisa
