what are these and how do they work, i know you need backlinks which are high quality to get ranked on google, but how do these packages which say buy 100 high quality backlinks at so and so price work, is it a blackhat stratergy or do they give you their own websites with high pagerank to put your backlinks on, if its like that would it be useless as hundreds of other people have probably allready put there backlinks on those sites, or is it something totaly different what im not understanding.

    Backlink Packets?

Backlink Packets are site URLs that are given to you to put backlinks on.

Unless you are referring to backlinking/link building services. These services automatically helps you build those thousand backlinks they promise.

if this services seller person have own 100 high PR sites and they are selling link on his sites so first check his all blogs if you like websites than buy backlinks.
if they give you low OBLs websites link find from other webmster so ask him to show you first than link place after your confirm. (if they show you 100 websites than you can check all website and choose these sites which you accepted.

Some people think it is; some think it isn't; many think it's some shade of gray (which usually means either that they haven't quite decided and don't particularly want to, or that they do it themselves but think others shouldn't).

Some are sites whose home pages have a high PR, but the page on which you can put a backlink is pr-0.

Backlinks on non-context-relevant, pr-0 pages do have some SEO value, if you have enough of them, but it's generally very small.

Some do; some don't. It's very much "caveat emptor".

In general, the ones with websites of their own tend to put the backlinks on for you, as they don't want their properties turning into a free-for-all. You still need to think about whether the individual page with your backlink is high-PR and whether it's covered in backlinks (which will devalue the benefit) and whether they're context-relevant.

That can indeed detract greatly from their value.

In contrast, a "forum profile page" typically won't have any other links on, apart from your own, but is likely to be pr-0 and stay that way (and some understandably get removed by forum owners). People have differing opinions about whether or not they comprise "link-spam". It can be quite an amusing activity (to a skepchick like me) seeing some of the literary and logical convolutions some people apparently go through to defend those opinions.

Yes, I kind of heard it looming in the background ... look on the bright side, though: it can tell you some interesting things about people, seeing how they discuss it. My own role in such discussions is typically simply to heckle and produce skepchick rumblings from the sidelines.

so from what i understand backlink packages are you paying someone who will just dump you website links on forums and other websites with high PR.

would this really help my site, if i run a website on finance and i get backlinks on a high PR website about dogs, would this helpfull for me reaching top rankings in google.

      I'm learning myself about backlinks

In a thread by authored by M. Franklin from June of 2009(perhaps outdated info?), he stated when it comes to backlinks it "quantity not quality", he indicated that it is writing articles that required the "quality". He seemed (my novice observance) rather well schooled in this subject, and came across as being rather authoritative(however with a very nice demeanor!). And it seemed that others on the thread(although there may have been differing opinions) seemed to respect his purview for the most part.

Granted everyone is an "expert" (cough!) but for someone like me or the OP it really is difficult to discern what is accurate, conjecture or postulation.

If I recall correctly he further stated the "relevancy" of the links "origin" was not a critical or an important issue (forgive me, it may have been another contributor on that thread that made this particular point). Which was part & parcel to his point it seemed. Additionally I don't recall the point of "purchased" links being introduced or mentioned in that thread. Perhaps that may have been a point of contention or concern had it been introduced?

Hopefully I understood what was written and therefore do not further obfuscate a subject that is instead in need of "clarification".

Anyway just trying to understand myself. Please take my comments with a grain of salt as I was interpreting what I read and myself, and trying to learn like the OP... I'm the new one here, you guys are the experienced ones, not me....

My apologies in advance for stepping on anyone toes, or referring to another thread on the forum. I'm sure you'll tell me why the backlinks I referred to and the type you are referring to are completely different! and I'll have learned....

Me personally I hope to start writing articles and creating backlinks from those articles I create. My challenge is that I am a lousy writer! not much technical writing "know how" either, but I need to give her a spin nonetheless! I am the worst writer, my ex GF won't even respond to my emails!

      (pass the popcorn please!)

There's many different definitions of what people will consider a "backlink package"

Quick tip - Build backlinks from a variety of ways: Web 2.0 Pages, Articles & Video Submissions, Social Media, Profile Backlinks, RSS & Social bookmarks. This is very fundamental stuff but really effective in increasing your web rankings.
