Is making money online really doable?

Whats up WF! Im new to this site, but still know a bit about online marketing. I got into it a few years back accidentally. I stumbled onto this one kids site and he had a free eBook on affiliate marketing. I then purchased Craig Beckta's Secret Affiliate Code 2. Thats when I found out about the actual work that goes into starting an online business. Im not a stranger to work, and Im willing to do it, I just need an idea of whats worked for others. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated. I think the reason I stopped before is I had a really hard time getting targeted traffic to my site. I have a camera and some really good ideas for advertisements, and a basic knowledge of affiliate marketing. Guess Im just looking for someone to point me in the right direction. Thank you for your time.

Yes, yes, yes! Making money is not only doable but quite possible. Depends on your goals. If you want to become a self-made internet millionaire it might prove hard...quite hard actually. But if you want to earn a living to avoid becoming a nine-to-fiver, you definitely can. From the start though, it will require lots of time investment from your part.

Im totally willing. Like I said this is nothing new to me, and I know the allure of the fanastic claims of "turnkey system" "make xx,xxx in x amount of days", so realistically I do know what Im getting into in that aspect. Im a nine to fiver now and am getting really burnt out on it. Im willing to do the work, just need to know whats helped others and worked for them and then go do it. Thank you for your reply I really appreciate it

Read the forum, there are many things you can do. Maybe you have certain skills that you could offer to other people on the forum and in general as services? Graphic design, for example.

Also, to be successful online, you might still have to work 9-5, at least, during the beginning. The difference will be that you'll be working for yourself and from your home. You will still have to put in the hours and effort.

It is of course do-able, ut only if you do it right, ie, you don't follow the stampeding herd of people crossing the plain like a herd of wilderbeast who all ultimately end up in the same river getting picked off by crocs...

Yes absolutely there is money to be made in internet marketing. Be prepared to invest a lot of time, especially in the beginning. There are a number of things that you will need to put in place i.e. website etc. You will probably want to spend some time each day on a forum like this one just to get a feel for what you are undertaking and what's possible.

Consider this bit of data. In the last quarter of 2009 there were 11 Million new domains registered. That's roughly 91,000 domains registered every day. That's a pretty staggering number. If it tells you nothing else it should tell you that there is a market out there. The amount of money that moves across the wire every hour defies understanding. We just want a very tiny piece of it.

I've had a couple of passing introductions to IM before this but I didn't have anything in the way of support so it always just sort of died on the vine. This time I was lucky enough to get into something that had a phenomenal support backend. So much so that I am expanding beyond the original program I started with. But still the knowledge I got from the support site with that first program is what made the difference. Actually seeing this as a career path rather than some program I got involved with or some "Money Making System". The thing is you probably will get involved with some such program but you have to realize the "system" is just the product. IM is a career choice, a profession. Don't confuse the profession with the product.

A lot of these programs are advertised as the end all be all, get rich before noon kind of deals which they obviously are not. But don't let that stop you from investigating them. A lot of times the hype is just a tool to get people to stop long enough to actually see the offer.

The absolute #1 thing is don't quit. Work on it, Do something everyday. Your efforts will evolve into bigger and bigger things. It's a fact of nature.

Thanks for the resonse!! Yeah this isn't my first go at IM but, I actually have my own computer now, so I can at least make an honest attempt at it. Whenever Im not working my other job I have plenty of free time and love learning about all this. The interviews on this site alone are very useful. What Im mainly wondering is what tips and tricks worked for people the best. Thank you for the reply and Ill keep researching

How much time per day would you suggest dedicating to IM when starting out? Im not in a position to have this be my main source of income yet, but I would like to slowly make that transition.

What has having a camera to do with being focused and to be successful in online marketing? Do you mean photography or videography as an online talent?

Aren't making videos easier than making eBooks? Also I hear Interviews are great too. I only made the comment because when I first started out I was introduced to a lot of ideas in viral marketing, and video creation. Just letting people know that avenue is an option for me.

Depending on the computer you have i.e. if it's a new laptop it probably has a camera built in if not then you might want to get a web cam. You can make YouTube Videos. Videos can be a very effective marketing tool but you still have to do the other stuff like optimize your videos for keywords etc and you will need to make quite a few of them and get them up on several sites like dailymotion and of course Youtube. There's another big one I can't think of the name right off hand.

When I say do something every day I mean add another piece. Write an article register a domain name, get hosting and put up a website. You can put up a website pretty easily. Get Wordpress and upload it to your server. If it's a windows server get Blogengine. Either of these can be customized to serve your needs. Plus Blog software allows you to create content that Google sees as separate pages. (think indexed pages). Look into some tools like Market Samurai and maybe XgenSEO or similar software. As for the tools I wouldn't buy anything at first. First learn about the tools and why you might need them. What they can do for you.

Seriously this is worth doing. I know of people making $10,000 and even $30,000 a month in this business. Do something every day. The more you learn the more you know what you need to learn. I saw a Youtube video the other day. This girl has been doing this for 8 years. Needless to say her business has evolved over time but she made the comment that one of her sites is doing $4,000 a month just from Google Adsense. that's not counting the primary revenue stream from the site.

In the end it's just like any other job. Just keep showing up, it will pay off.

It really depends on YOU and what you're comfortable doing. But to do a decent job on either requires some effort on your part. That means sculpting a topic to suit your audience, ferreting out the important details and creating some form of an outline before you go ahead and produce something.

A little effort goes a long way. Though video remains a popular choice, it seems that many of them created are of poor quality. But you can make yours so much better than average by getting organized, mapping out a plan, writing out a simple script and limiting each video to a short 5 minutes.

Whatever the product planning, organizing and outlining makes it better.

Amazon or Adsense sites are a simple way to get started. The money you make at first isn't amazing, after a few weeks you will be just making a few bucks a day, but it grows nicely and is easy to manage.

Earning money online is equivalent to finding a good job. You're going to have to apply yourself and it won't happen over night, but it is definitely doable.

Be prepared to struggle in the beginning, but once you figure it all out... watch out.
    It's worth it!
