Paypal buttons not working on wordpress????

Ok this is weird, installed the html code for each button into dashboard html, they show but you can't click them. Well searching around online I found thread after thread saying paypal buttons don't work with wordpress, only the donate one does? That makes no sense?

Spoke to Paypal they said the codes are correct, but their not sure why it's not working, they say they see this issue all the time with wordpress sites.

A quick fix would be to use the email link code for that button and add that hyperlink to a buy now button that you added to the page or post.

    Quick,

I just got your PM, but I see you already started this thread.

I agree with E. Brian Rose. If you can't get the normal form code to work using the email link will be the easiest, just wrap it around an img of the buy now button, and your good to go.

I use paypal buttons on my wordpress blogs all the time without problem. Question: are you installing them on selfhosted wordpress blogs or on blogs you create on wordpress.com? if it's the latter, then that might be the issue, wordpress.com doesn't want you to use their blogs to make money, if you host wordpress yourself, you won't have this issue.

Ok seem to have fixed it, for whatever reason the buttons would work alone, but the second you added text above so people know which pkg is which, the code would get all screwy after you updated. So I wrote the text first, then added the button codes and now it works.... go figure, not sure what happened but I talked to someone else who said they had the exact same problem with not just paypal but other merchant when inputting the html code and then adding text (even though the text is outside and has nothing to do with the button codes).

Then I have no idea what it could be, at least without seeing your site. Like I said, I never had this issue and I have a lot of paypal buttons on my blogs.

I just tested a minute ago: copied and pasted a 'button code' from paypal into a post in the html editor (not the visual) and it shows up perfectly.

It is not a WP problem for sure!

Thinking about it, it might be a theme issue. Some themes can be a pain to work with. Or even a plugin that is causing issues.
