iphone app advertising

Im almost finished developing an iphone app. Actually, the app will be released for multiple devices but Im looking for advertisers. I would love to have a main "sponsor" who's ad appears at launch, then perhaps smaller ads on interior pages.

Where would be a great place to look for advertisers? Sorry, Im kinda new to this arena (iphone mobile app advertising) and simply do not know where to start. Is there something like a text link ads for mobile devices? I figure all my warrior friends would have some places to go.

    what does the app do?
    A: its a simple music search tool that links to amazon, itunes, and possibly rhapsody. Originally it was a web application and we are converting the functionality to mobile devices.

    What does your user demographic look like?
    A: the web application was originally built in 2006 and still operates today. Users are typically preteen - 30. We will start marketing the app via facebook etc and will be shooting for the same demo. The web app has been mentioned on mashable as one of the top 90 essential music and audio websites.

    What are your rates for advertising?
    A: Currently, on the web app our advertising rates are very low. Simply because we knew we would be transitioning to the mobile platform. We have not fully worked out rates on the app yet. Sponsorship obviously will be a little more because its gonna be a dedicated "splash screen" that appears every single time the app is launched. Interior ads will be cycled through so those rates will be on a more of a "per impression" scale. If you are interested in talking in more detail, send me a message.
