Building An Affiliate Marketing Website - Step-by-Step

Building an affiliate marketing website step by step is certainly where a lot of would be affiliate marketers have missed the mark. As a newbie you come online wanting to make money and make it fast.

The first thing they tell you is to become an affiliate by selling other people's product for a commission and that sounds great except when you have spent a couple of dollars in driving traffic to the vendor's salespage without making a dime that is where it's no longer fun.

Now to start with, it is a short sighted mindset to come online wanting to make money but it should be to come online with a mindset to build a business that will ultimately become a cash generating machine for you and your love ones and have the freedom you desire.

With that said, what is it that the would be affiliate marketer does? He or she is told to go to clickbank or paydotcom and get a product to promote. Once they have identified a product they immediately start driving traffic to the vendor's page, while they might make commission here and there, the truth of the matter is that you are not building a business for the long haul.

Here are some few lessons I have learnt along the path:

1. Find a niche or hungry market

2. Find a product or service to feed your hungry market with

3. Get a domain name using the keyword you used in locating your niche market.

4. Get a good hosting account

5. Get an autoresponder, this enables you to capture your prospects names and email addresses so as to start building relationship with them and eventually convert them to customers and friends.

6. Install Wordpress platform

7. Build your website and content

8. Drive traffic to your website

It is now that you start promoting your offer via your website and to your list of subscribers.

This is the way to build a strong affiliate marketing business that last for a long time.

Please, share your thoughts on this subject and I hope you've enjoyed my cent input here.

Thanks for the information on step by step guide. So I must find a niche first. If I do manage to find a niche but my interest is not there, how am I going to build my website and find content? I remember my IM lecturer mentioned about outsourcing, any good recommendations? Does that mean that with the paid information, I just put every word into the blog ? I am a newbie, still building my blog and writing my own content

I have many sites where I have no interest whatsoever in the niche. To find content, I use the Unique Articles Wizard plugin (it's free) to see whether someone else has already written about my niche and then I use their article as my content. UAW articles are unique and I've never had a problem with duplicate content or getting my sites to rank high in the search engines. Plus, when I use the UAW articles, the author usually places two links to their own sites in the article where readers can get more info. I've found that some of these authors will then backlink their articles, so when their links are on my sites, I know that they're going to promote my site. So, I'll get even more exposure.

If UAW doesn't have an article I can use, I then go to an article directory, like ezinearticles, and search for my niche. I always rewrite those articles in my own words or use an article rewriting service to do it for me. I hope this helps.

This is a great plan, plus Mike Murphy's Step 9. If people took the time to do it, they would realize they don't need to buy so many ebooks and courses that say the same thing.

Another thing that might be useful is some sort of guide on how your site should look like - appearance wise. I'm new to IM and I've been reading sales pages on clickbank, etc and I really can tell the difference between someone who knows what they are doing and someone who just wrote some copy. I mean formatting, little tricks to help Google like your site more, etc. I actually have a product to sell and a great niche to sell it in but I am kind of unsure as far as how to build the site. I have one niche site selling a clickbank product but I had help building it and the person who helped me is no longer available.

I agree, nice guidelines to follow here for getting started. I would like to confirm that Word Press sites are definitely the way to go. There are so many useful plug-ins to help you customize and make the site really professional in look and functionality. There are also some excellent seo plugins to help you get the new site up to speed in that very important requirement.
