No Keyword Searches for Dating Blog?

hello warriors,

I have a dating blog who's (without giving the exact title) show up in google's keyword searches as "ZERO" monthly searches!

its a 3 word domain name, and it seems the word "females" in the domain/title is what is killing me, because if I replace "females" with the word "women" in the KWT then there are about 10k monthly searches.....

My aim is to advertise via article marketing using directories
primarily, or at least at this juncture....

At any rate:

1. Should I select a different domain?
2. Not use the domain as the keyword phrase?
3. substitute "women" instead of "females" for the "anchor link" wording?
4. Keep the domain, but substitute the word "females" for "women" in the title?
5. a combination of the above
6. different game plan all together?
7. Should the focus not be on the domain name itself, but on the
site title and article KW optimization?

I'm not sure about the best way to proceed, your suggestion
would be very helpful, as I'm unsure at this point
(as of yet I have not advertised the site, but want to very soon!)

at this point it's a single page blog, I will add more content and pages as time transpires
thank you very much,

I really look forward to becoming a contributing member of the forum ....!

    Dano,

Here is my advice as someone who has created, bought, and sold a ton of websites in this niche.

With thousands of possible keywords and keyword phrases in this niche, I think you're worrying about the wrong thing. I could start a dating blog called www.TheYellowHornetNest.com and it would still be a success because the traffic I'm buying and generating via content marketing is not contingent on the domain name.

While you should strive to obtain a good domain name, I wouldn't focus too much on it. For example, if you're going to drive traffic using article marketing then you'll be using a wide variety of keywords in your article titles as well as throughout your article (you only need a few). Same for your press releases and videos if you plan on creating videos and submitting them to video directories.

I strongly recommend learning article marketing from the likes of Tim Gorman, Steven Wagenheim, Dean Shainin, and Allen Graves to name a few. Article marketing has changed quite a bit in the past few years so one should stay abreast of these changes.
