ClickBank, what happens when the buyer doesn't get there from a hoplink

What happens if someone buys a CB product by typing in the domain. So there would be no affiliate, and at the botton it says 'affiliate=none'.

I assume all of the money goes to the publisher correct?

The only disadvantage to this is that you can't track it, correct?

In this case all the money goes to the publisher, the disadvantage to the affiliate is that you would lose the commission the publisher can always track it using things like awstats or statscounter.

In that case all the money goes to the publisher. Good for him but bad for you if you happen to be an affiliate....

That's why you don't want to name the product by the actual name on your site.
You may notice that the successful IMer's that send promos to lists never give you enough information to bypass them.

This isn't completely true. If the person had previously been to the site through an affiliate link and the cookie is still there, the affiliate will get credit.

Obviously, with ANY affiliate program, if the customer never went through an affiliate link, no affiliate will get credit. Why should they?

    O ok, thats good then.

In my case, I am the publisher and I am getting traffic from an ad i put up on a third party website.

I was debating on using my own affiliate ID for my own product.

Will it help my CB market stats if I get sales with my CB affiliate account?

Does anyone think I should use my affiliate name, rather than no affiliate when promoting my own product?
