I want to BREAK my website, please help me

Hi Warriors.

Simply, I am looking for a website which will send a ton of bots to my website to try and crash it and send a report on how many visits the website handled etc.

I need to see how much my website can handle, it would be brilliant if there is a tool for this.

Regards
Owen

Rather than worry about it, why not just use a caching wordpress plugin to avoid calamity?

This is the problem I have had, I am using a cache plugin, I had a small amount of visitors and the website crashed, I checked my memory usage which is max 768, and it was all fine.

I spoke to Hostgator and they are saying im going over the usage limit, when I no I am now! Now it is back up and working, I just want to prove them wrong basically to show its nothing to do with visitor load.

I do not agree with the results they are telling me, as when I pull up the results I do not see the same as they say!

    Owen,

There ARE such tools. Unless you have a DEDICATED server, or a VPS, DON'T DO IT! They could SHUT YOU DOWN! Basically, you would be INTENTIONALLY violating the spirit of the concept, and often would be violating the TOS!

    sbucciarel,

That would be impossible. The plugin runs under wordpress which runs under the server. If the server crashes, the other stuff just can't work.

I am not on shared hosting, so it would be fine to run.

      Any recommendations?

That's true, but the plugin is there to help prevent server crashes due to huge amounts of traffic. Many of the biggest blogs use it.

Which caching plugin would you recommend as super cache and w3total do not work well with my blog.

I've used both without any problems but w3 is the one I'm using on my Google News site. Haven't had any problems with it so far.

I think hostgator have problems which they are not fixing, when I use w3 cache, it created 1gb+ files, full of notepads, I will take a look into the coding to see if it is caching downloads.

In W3 you can clear the cache ... I do that once a day. That might clear up all those files.
