Have just unsuscribed to a guru email list.

As the saying goes, the money is on the list, the idea here as far as i am concerned is making money by helping your list make money first.There are some gurus who just show up with some classy clickbank screenshots then ask you to join their list to learn their techniques which by the way might not even work, then before you realize you are their money source.they just just promote whatever is on the market.Some like [deleted] judt push the send button on any product that is launching.so what should i buy and what should i not?am outta this list man!!

  • So you're on a marketer's list, and get marketed to? The horror.

    But on the other hand, I think you're somewhat right. I don't really subscribe to lists anymore, because to be honest, I can see potential in almost any idea if it is intelligently presented, and would find myself pursuing or tweaking on yet another project. One of the big things for me is staying focused, which I have a hard time with. I'm not ON any lists because, while they might have good ideas occasionally, #1; they WILL try to sell me something at some point, #2; (likely) end up getting unrelated, 3rd party "JV" or ad-swap horse-manure, and #3; I WILL get side-tracked, yet again.
    Unsubscribe, just don't buy it and move on. Plenty of good, free info if you look in the right places. If they have good info, then you're on the right list and shouldn't mind the occasional pitch.

    • If you're not getting what you want from a list, unsubscribing is the smart thing to do. Don't waste your time or the list owner's if it's doing neither of you any good.

      What I don't get, even after all this time, is why anyone feels the need to come in here and start yet another thread announcing it. What do you expect to accomplish with this?

    • It is not the concept of marketing products per se that is a problem, it is abusing the trust of the subscriber by not giving a crap about them by endorsing questionable and substandard products. They should care more about their reputation.
  • You are absolutely correct. I had that happen to me when I was on a guru's list (more than once). In one example (and the last thankfully) I trusted him and he promoted a dud product called "[deleted]" and I bought it like a sucker. It turned out to be a scam (surprise surprise). Since then I have unsubscribed from many gurus lists. I am not knocking legitimate and honest internet marketers that are genuinely trying to sell good products. But I am taking a shot at the gurus who like you say just promote products sold by any Tom, Dick and Harry. They don't care if the product is a lemon or not. Very sad.
    You are better off sticking around on forums and interacting with the people on there. There is a lot of good free stuff out there. It should really help you. What you have to be careful of are those many fake review sites out there who pretend to be offering "unbiased" reviews of a newly launched product. They are just affiliates trying to pull the wool over your eyes. They clog the pages of google so you can't find a genuine review. Just be aware of the games these gurus and their affiliate buddies often play.
