Your download pages accessible and how to fix it.

Hi Everyone. OK I am a product creator. I always am checking for my products being offered. So far during the course of my search I have found hundreds of download pages. I have contacted some of them obviously not all.with the solution of how to fix it. I want you to understand that you can have your site indexed without having all of your content indexed. to do this do the following
open your .htaccess file and paste this into it
User-agent: *
Disallow: /


.htaccess code

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^Googlebot [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^.*Googlebot.*$ [NC]
RewriteRule .* - [F,L]

End of story just make sure you put the .htaccess file in the folder you are hiding. Not in the root of your domain otherwise your site will not be indexed at all.
For the love of God stop giving your products to thieves it just doesn't have to be that way and it may just increase your sales:p

    You say put the .htaccess file in the folder you want to hide, but what if your TYP is just a page; i.e. sitedotcom/thankyoupage.htm?

      Hi great question. here is the solution.
      yoursite.com/thanks/ty3467dl.html or whatever you name it.put the content in a seperate folder and put the.htaccess file with that code in it

    Hi there,

    Some vendor networks such as Clickbank automaticlly add some code to your thank you page and thus they are not indexed.

    Good to know Emma however. if you go to clickbank marketplace find a top selling product enter in with a certain code into a search engine you can find the download page.unfortunately whatever this code is does nothing as I know first hand so it is best to do your part and not rely on something like that people also rely on the robots.txt file in which does not provide the protection this does. This tells all robots spidering your site for any reason they cannot enter this folder.
