Membership site content is ready, tips...

Hi there,
I have a idea and plan to launch membership site to niche market.

Now all content is ready (videos, text, pictures etc.). It took 4 moths to create it, because I think that the content is what I'm selling, so it's most important and first thing.

Now I need some tips and advice about softwares and technical stuff:

1. What membership site sofware is OK for my use:

- There will be free area, and montly payment area with new material every month (produced before)
- Also it would be nice if memebers are automaticly your affliliates/sellers.

2. In front page I need subscribe box:
- What program to use with membership site?

3. What other programs/sofwares I might need?

- My plan is to hire professional technical guy/coder to handle all tech and I just want to produce material.

Thanks for your tips.

- John

With what you have described I would use a Word Press blog. More specifically a Revolution Magazine Theme (One of the older designs. When you get a membership at Revolution you can download any and all themes).

Then secure it with aMember and buy the additional WP plugin.

This is the easiest way to go about it. Sprinkle the paid content on the first page around the free stuff. When a free member clicks on the Premium content it will prompt for a membership signup.

This way you won't need a tech guy. I set it up myself and with a little help from David Moskowitz and his Membership Academy. It costs way less than a coder and his videos explain everything.

FYI: Once you have this all setup all you have to do is post all the content and select whether it will be free content or premium. Click the little box as to which one it is and you're finished.

It's definitely an easy and painless way to get started...

    Mike Hill

PS. Here is an example of the type of membership site I've explained http://www.3xmethod.com/ (This site belongs to Nathan Hopkins... Really good job eh? Go sign up and lose some weight )

    PPS. aMember costs - $180
    WP Plugin costs - $40
    Membership Achademy costs - $19.97
WP Theme costs - $149.95 / lifetime (as many themes as you can handle )

Total cost = $389.92 Not too shabby considering a coder would cost way more than this. And on your second membership site you can eliminate the cost for blog themes as that was a cost for lifetime downloads...

      Hi Mike,

Your set up looks nice, but when I go to the sales page, none of the images are showing.

      Thanks,

Are you talking about Newbies On Fire membership..? if so then that's because there is no sales page yet... Just the members area right now..

If you're talking about the link in the post 3X Method that's not my membership... it belongs to Nathan Hopkins (He's a fellow Warrior)

        Mike Hill

PS. If you're talking about Newbie Quick Tips (in my sig) then hit refresh and it will / should come up.... I jus tclicked the link and it never came up but when I hit refresh it did... Strange

The broblem is that when customers get new uppdated material, they need that one month to study and practice it before next level.

Mayby good idea is to produce main bigger material once the month and small tips, videos and news every week.

    Hi John

I've seen a couple of Wordpress plugins that will release content over time. One is Your Members Wordpress Membership plugin (I can't post links yet, but if you google that you'll find it, and I'm not an affiliate).

I'm thinking of using it myself, but I'm continuing to look around before I make my final choice.

Hope that helps, and good luck with the site.

The 3X Method site is one that I helped Ryan and Nathan with on the backend integration.
It uses aMember with Wordpress and the Revolution theme.
You can get this same set up with my turnkey package- see my sig, or the demo wordpress site.

This whole idea about using WorldPress and aMember together seems really interesting!

        Some new questions from newbie

        1. I would like to use "Suscribe Now" e-mail box in front page of Memebership sites OR in salesletter (free gift/video/lesson).

Can you do this with aMember or do I need some other subscribing software like AWeber?

        2. My first plan was that when customer sign, he/she will be automaticly allifiate. This was my major business plan. Is this anyway possible with Worldpress/aMemeber?

And if it's not, can I tell them later about possibility to make money with their new hobby? And can aMember organizise allifiate program or do I need some other software for that?

Thaks again! This is really great forum!

        - John

P.S. I have been trying to stydy aMember, but amember.com is not working (esterday and today).-

          John,

I use Amember + WordPress for my membership site and it has worked really well. One reason we did this is in hopes of integrating BuddyPress in the future which makes your WordPress installation into a mini-Facebook-type social network.

Here are some answers to your other questions.

Amember has limited e-mail blast functionality, but I don't recommend using it. I would manage your lists with Aweber.

Amember has an affiliate management component, we don't used it by I have been told it works fine. There is an option in Amember to automatically make new members of your site into affiliates.

Currently we are using 1ShoppingCart to manage affiliates, but we are also looking at changing that soon.

If you use the timed content component of Simple Member Pro then it can handle all your needs.

You can set up a free membership with the main content then once inside the members can purchase a product that controls the timed content. You can schedule the content to be delivered any way you want by days, weeks, months, or years and the same with the paypal subscription for the product.

We all know that there is too much information around, so I challenge you:

Who can do the most simple step-by-step -guide to my case?

The best "to do" -list, will get free lifetime membership to my sites when ready

I have just membersip site material (selesletter, texts, videos) ready. Nothing else. I use really much computer, but still I'm not expert about technical stuff.

I'm looking really simple guide, something like this...

    1. Get your domain name
    2. Buy space from internet to your sites
    3. Open PayPall account
    5. Open worldpress
    4. Call to ...... if you need help
    5. ......aMember, WorldPressPlugins, WorldMember, AWeber, Affialte software
    (I HAVE ALLREADY HEADACHE)
    6. ......

aMember has a built in affiliate program you can use.

I do phpbb3 integrations too for my premium members -http://amember-phpbb.com/

PHPBB3 integrates well with amember, and I have the templates for it that match the Revolution theme that comes with the Revolution wordpress package.

EMP doesn't integrate with word press as of right now.

BTW... almost all membership scripts have all members automatically affiliates. Some even allow non members to be affiliates.

    Hi again,
I have been working in cruice line with really slow interent connection (one page in few minutes ), but here again

Still working about to find best solution for my purpose before going online (at same time I create contect and do other IM related stuff like studying allmost 24/7)

Yesterday I study about payment prosessors and my first plan was to use PayPal before reading horrible storys from: Welcome to PayPalSucks.com, PayPal Lawsuit, PayPal Alternative, PayPal Complaints, Fraud & Evil behind the PayPal system!

Is it really true, that they can freeze your business account for 6 months without any reason or example if someone pays your product with stolen credit card or tens of other weird reasons what you can read from there?

How about you Warriors? Do you use PayPal with succes or some other payment prosessors?

How you can trust them if the storys are true and they can STEAL your business and 100% of your incomes anytime?

    1. Content creator: I'm goign to use 100% sure worldpress for my mebership sites because of flexbility (something desided here, WOW )
    Magazine theme.

    2. Membership program: WishList WP or aMember.

WishList WP's problem seems to be that I can't use it with any affiliate software like JROX JAM or Post Affiliate Pro? Its huge problem, because my main business plan is that members:

    a) are automaticly also affiliates or
    b) they can join my affiliate system real easy way in seconds

Offcourse I can use Clickbank (just reading about it), but when I go to customers shoes I feel it's too complicated to join affiliate program, because if they have not any experience, they have to open account + they have tons of new material for their brains waiting for them.

It would be much easier if they just sign in (or are allready affiliates) and have all your marketing help tools and affiliate link immediatelly in their own account without any other information.

or then I didn't get right how Clickbank works

    3. If I'm going to use Worldpress with aMember + affliate software integration (JROX JAM or Post Affiliate Pro) is there any other payment prosessor solution than PayPal what I can use with mebership sites (montly payment).
    - And if I'm using that other payment prosessor, can I still pay to my affiliates to their own PayPal-account?

    4. If I buy JROX JAM or Post Affiliate Pro, I have to intergate it to aMember. Because I'm totally braindead with all technical stuff (I just want to do things where I'm really good), do you now any coders who can handel this 100% like "keys to your hands" -project.

    5. Do you know any coders/corporations who can do ALL 100% to you from domain name registration to payment prosessor intergation? In way that you can just consentrate your time to your business and making money?

    6. If I have to do it alone: If you are using Worldpress, what host and domain name company you use?

    Thanks for your time!

"Why PayPal freezes (aka limits, aka restricts) user accounts:
    - you accessed PayPal at a friends house one time, and that friends account was frozen.
    - your friend used your computer to access their PayPal account, which was later frozen.

    - you accessed PayPal via an anonymous proxy service.
    "
    from:
    http://www.paypalsucks.com/frozen-accounts.shtml

WOW! My plan is to take 1 year world tour in next year, so there is going to be hundreds of different methods/ways/computers how I'm connecting to my money!

My purpose is not to hurt any corporations reputation, I'm just asking are these claims from real life or just a big joke?

Yes to all. You can either set up a blog or just set up the members areas to deliver everything you have. The members add on will drip content, so it's set it and forget it.

          Thanks,
